    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a stairway handrail capable of letting the handrail installed on a stairway resist to an external force from either of up and down directions sufficiently and having excellent mounting workability and a design property. SOLUTION: In this mounting structure of the stairway handrail T fixing a bracket 20 for supporting a tread above a beam K for the stairway and fixed on the stairway S supporting and fixing the tread 40 on the bracket 20, the handrail T includes a plurality of support columns 50, a coping 60 fixed to the upper end of the support column 50, and a base member 54 fixed to the lower end of the support column 50. The base member 54 is inserted and fixed into a recess 22 formed on the upper face 21 of the bracket 20 for supporting the tread. The support column 50 passes through an insertion hole 42 formed in the tread 40 and is fixed to a cylindrical body 55 of the base member 54 with a flat countersunk head screw 59a.
