PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifog article having an antifog film excellent in antifogging properties and durability such as wear resistance and chemical resistance, to provide an article for transportation equipment, which article includes the antifog article, and to provide a composition for forming an underlying layer, which is used for obtaining the antifog article and has a satisfactorily long pot life.SOLUTION: The antifog article has the antifog film on the surface of a substrate. The antifog film has the underlying layer, which is layered on the surface of the substrate and comprises an underlying material based on a second cross-liking resin, and a water absorption layer which comprises a water absorbing material and has the water absorptivity higher than that of the underlying layer. The underlying layer is formed from the composition for forming the underlying layer, which composition contains: a cross-linkable component being a main raw material component of the second cross-linking resin; a curing agent; a predetermined amount of a silane-based coupling agent which has a functional group exhibiting reactivity to a reactive group of the main raw material component and a hydrolyzable group; and another predetermined amount of tetraalkoxysilane and/or a polymer thereof.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an article with a low-reflection film which exhibits a low reflectance of light incident thereon at a large incident angle and has good abrasion resistance; and a solar battery module which achieves high power generation efficiency even if it is installed so that an angle formed by the surface of the solar battery module and a horizontal plane is 50-90 degrees.SOLUTION: The article 1 with a low-reflection film comprises: a transparent base material 10; and a low-reflection film 12 provided on the transparent base material 10. The low-reflection film 12 includes three layers consisting of a lower layer 14, an intermediate layer 16 and an upper layer 18. The average reflectance of light of wavelengths of 400-1200 nm incident on the surface of the low-reflection film 12 at an incident angle of 70 degrees is 7% or less. The average reflectance of light of wavelengths of 600-900 nm incident on the surface of the low-reflection film 12 at the incident angle of 70 degrees is 5% or less. The average reflectance of light of wavelengths of 400-1200 nm incident on the surface of the low-reflection film 12 at the incident angle of 60 degrees is 3% or less. The average reflectance of light of wavelengths of 400-1200 nm incident on the surface of the low-reflection film 12 at the incident angle of 50 degrees is 2% or less.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an inorganic coating composition in which a hydrophilic coated film having high transparency and capable of keeping excellent hydrophilic property, antifogging properties, flow drop property and stainproof property for a long period can be formed and to provide the hydrophilic coated film and an agricultural film. SOLUTION: The method for producing the inorganic coating composition in which the hydrophilic coated film can be formed on a substrate comprises a step for mixing an alumina sol in which boehmite particles are dispersed in a dispersion medium with silica sol in which silica particles are dispersed in a dispersion medium. An alumina sol in which (a) average particle diameter of aggregate particles in the dispersion medium is 20-500 nm and (b) average pore radius of xerogel obtained by removing the dispersion medium from the alumina sol is ≥5 nm and (c) total pore volume of 1-100 nm pore radius in the xerogel is 0.50-2.00 ml/g is used as the alumina sol. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion containing hollow SiO 2 which can give, when used as a coating composition, a reflection-preventing film having high reflection-preventing performance and low saturation by forming a low-refractive-index coating film having a gradient of the refractive index. SOLUTION: The dispersion is produced by dispersing aggregate particles consisting of aggregates of primary particulates of hollow SiO 2 in a dispersing medium, and the dispersed silica particulates have an average particle size which is 60-400 nm and at least 1.5 times the average particle size of the primary particulates. When the dispersion is employed in a coating composition, the matrix component is preferably a precursor of a metal oxide or an organic resin. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material with a laminated film which can prevent the surface of the base material such as glass from being contaminated by a silicone oil, etc., isolated from a silicone sealing material for a long time, keep transparency and including a photocatalyst film with a self-running-off layer free from the deterioration of various characteristics such as hydrophilic nature of the photocatalyst film, and a method for manufacturing the base material with a laminated film. SOLUTION: This base material with a laminated film has the self-running-off layer formed on an outermost layer of the base material with a laminated film including a photocatalyst film. In addition, the self-running-off layer preferably includes (a) a surfactant and (b) not less than one kind of metallic oxide of a metal selected from the group consisting of Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Sn and Zn. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a substrate with a coating by using a hydrolyzable silane compound which can easily manufacture the same with high productivity while maintaining quality and a yield by efficiently preparing a coating film-forming composition while suppressing generation of precipitates or the like.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a substrate with a coating includes: an A liquid preparing process of preparing an A liquid containing a nonionic surfactant; a B liquid preparing process of preparing a B liquid which contains a hydrolyzable silane compound and/or partial hydrolytic condensate, and silica fine particles, but does not contain the nonionic surfactant; a mixing process of mixing the A liquid and the B liquid stored at a storage temperature of -5°C or lower immediately after the B liquid preparing process at a temperature which does not generate precipitation to obtain a coating film-forming composition; and a coating film-forming process of applying and curing the coating film-forming composition on a substrate to form a coating.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce complex metal oxide particles, the particle diameter of which is small enough, and the dispersibility in a hydrophobic matrix is excellent, and which take a perovskite-type crystal structure, with a method not necessitating a milling step.SOLUTION: In a method for producing complex metal oxide particles including a complex metal oxide, the complex metal oxide is of a complex metal oxide having elements A comprising one or more selected from a group constituted of Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg, Al, Pb, Co, and Sn, an element B comprising one selected from a group constituted of Ti, Zr, W, Nb, Hf, Sn, and Si, and oxygen O as constituent elements, and the method for producing complex metal oxide particles has a first step to treat oxide particles of the element B with a silane coupling agent, and a second step to make a product obtained in the first step react with a hydroxide of the element A.
