SOLUTION: This pump has a disk-like impeller 12, having a ring part 121 on the outer peripheral side of blade grooves 120 arranged in large number in the rotating direction, and forms a flow passage groove 100, which extends up to the tail end part, from a starting end part in the rotational direction of the impeller 12 in an area opposed to the blade grooves 120, on a cover 10. Expansion grooves 102 and 112, arranged on the outer peripheral side of the starting end part of the flow passage groove 100, are set opposed to an end surface of the ring part 121 and are positioned in a projection surface of the impeller 12, as viewed in the axial direction of the impeller 12. The foreign matter flowing in a seal surface is dropped in the expansion groove 102, when moving up to the expansion groove 102, in response to rotation of the impeller 12; and the foreign matter dropped in the expansion groove 102 is discharged from a discharge passage via the flow passage groove 100. Since the expansion groove 102 is arranged in a flow passage starting end part, being the low-pressure side and does not further extend up to the outside more than the sealing surface, reduction in the sealability can be restrained. SOLUTION: A pump chamber 13 and a pressure accumulating chamber 14 are coaxially formed in a body housing 11. By driving the plunger 15 of the pump chamber 13 in a left direction (a fuel suction direction) by a motor 19, fuel is sucked in the pump chamber 13. By driving rightward the plunger 15 for a pump through a coil spring 16 for discharge, fuel in the pump chamber 13 is discharged in the pressure accumulating chamber 14. By energizing the plunger 17 of the pressure accumulation chamber 14 in a right direction (a fuel pressurizing direction) through a spring 18 for pressure accumulation, fuel in the pressure accumulating chamber 14 is discharged in a fuel pressure regulating valve 37 as the fuel is pressurized. Fuel discharged in a fuel pressure regulating valve 37 is regulated to a specified fuel pressure and discharged to a fuel injection valve through a fuel discharge pipe 38.

SOLUTION: In this pump, a discharge port 36 being communicated with the termination part of a pump flow passage is provided on the radially external side of the pump flow passage and the pump flow passage is extended to a radial seal part 40. By forming the discharge port 36 by being inclined in the revolving direction of an impeller, the inside surface of the discharge port 36 that fuel with a speed line segment of the same direction as the revolving direction of the impeller flows in the discharge port 36 collides is defined as a slant face 36a and pressure loss of fuel at the time of the collision is reduced. And because a guide groove to the discharge port 36 is formed at the termination part, fuel can be smoothly flowed within the blade groove of the impeller.

SOLUTION: A pump channel 42 forming a pump flow passage 11 is formed in a casing main body 40, and a storage part 43 storing a ring member is formed on an outer peripheral side of the pump channel 42. A cross sectional area for reducing disturbance in the flow of fuel in the pump flow passage 11 is formed in a fixed section E in the storage part 43 to prevent the stagnation. The ring member is merely provided in the storage part 43 and can be assembled easily. Moreover, a section in which the pump flow passage 11 is not formed is a seal part 44a. The seal part 44a is formed integrally with the casing main body 40 and a clearance between an impeller and the seal part 44a is ensured with high precision to improve the sealing property and prevent the contact with the impeller.

The root side of the blade piece 31 is inclined rearward in the rotational direction, while its tip side in the diametrical outside is inclined frontward in the rotational direction. A recess in a front face 32 is gradually and sequentially reduced from the root of the blade piece 31 toward the tip in the diametrical outside and sequentially enlarged inward from the both ends in the rotational shaft direction. The recess in the root side of the front face 32 is large so that the fuel easily flows from the root side of the blade piece 31 towards the grooved space 39 by the rotation of the impeller 30. The recess of the front face 32 is reduced so that the flow rate of the fuel flowing to the tip side of the grooved space 39 increases.

The cup member 35 is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape. A cylindrical part 37 of the cup member 35 is reciprocatably fitted to an outer peripheral wall of the support member 31. A fuel chamber 62 is formed of the outer peripheral wall of the support member 31 and an inner peripheral wall of the cup member 35. The fuel chamber 62 communicates with an inlet chamber 60 via a communicating passage 61. When the fuel chamber 62 stores a prescribed quantity of fuel, a pump body 20 is stopped. Then, the fuel of the fuel chamber 62 is pushed out to the inlet chamber 60 by passing through the communicating passage 61 by energizing force of the coil spring 40, and is discharged from a discharge pipe 12 by passing through a filter element 15.

An adjusting member 31 is housed in a valve seat member 30 freely to be reciprocated. A metal abutment part 40 is formed into a plane shape so as to abut on a valve seat 30b in both planes thereof. When the fuel pressure of a fuel outlet 103 exceeds the predetermined pressure, a pressure receiver member 15, the adjusting member 31 and the abutment part 40 are displaced to a second chamber 101 side, and the abutment part 40 seats on the valve seat 30b so as to cut the fuel flow flowing from a fuel inlet 102 into a first chamber 100. Even if the abutment part 40 obliquely seats on the valve seat 30b, a conical recessed part 40a of the abutment part 40 slides with a projecting part 34 of the adjusting member 31 so as to correct the inclination of the abutment part 40 in relation to the valve seat 30b, and the abutment part 40 seats on the valve seat 30b in the plane thereof.
