Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply fuel in a fuel reserve well to a fuel filter, and to shorten a fuel injection time to the filter in the start-up of an engine, even when a fuel level is low in a reservoir and even when the engine is turned off.
SOLUTION: This fuel pump module has a fuel pump 42 arranged inside the reservoir 27 and having a fuel outlet 44, a fuel filter case 64 for storing the fuel filter 48 in its inside for receiving the fuel from the fuel outlet 44 of the fuel pump 42. A fuel discharge housing 56 is attached to the fuel filter case 64, and discharges the fuel introduced into the fuel discharge housing 56 through the filter 48, from a housing fuel outlet 60 and a bleeding orifice 66. The housing fuel outlet 60 is guided to the engine 12, and the bleeding orifice 66 discharges the fuel into a fuel reserve well formed on a bottom face of the reservoir 27. The fuel reserve well holds the fuel of prescribed amount.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump module, reducing emission of fuel vapor and including an integrated vapor exhaust manifold.
SOLUTION: This fuel pump module includes a module flange 20 having two or more vapor intake ports on the base side thereof and adapted to introduce fuel vapor from exhaust valves 30, 40, 50 close to and separate from each other through the intake ports into the vapor manifold 22 in a fuel tank 11. The fuel vapor collected by the separated exhaust valve 30 is carried to the vapor manifold 22 by an internal exhaust pipe 34 provided in the tank. Thus, the vapor can be restrained from being discharged from an external vapor tube. The fuel vapor introduced into the vapor manifold 22 is mixed and can be discharged from a single outlet 26 connected to the external vapor tube 62 communicated with a storage container 60.

SOLUTION: An FPC unit 50 is mounted on a flange member 23 to eliminate the necessity of separately securing the space for mounting the FPC unit 50, and the FPC unit 50 can be arranged so as to be isolated from the fuel inside of a fuel tank 2. Thus, the FPC unit 50 is required only to make a seal to infiltration of moisture or dust, and does not require high selaing performance such as when arranging the FPC unit 50 inside the fuel tank 2. The FPC unit 50 is mounted on the flange member 23 to shorten wiring between an FPC 51 and a fuel pump 12 to thereby reduce generation of the electric noise as well as to miniaturize a capacitor 52, a capacitor 53 and a coil 54 for constituting an RC circuit.

SOLUTION: A sub tank 20 is made of resin and is conductive. A jet nozzle 25 in a jet pump 24 is joined to the outer wall at the bottom of the sub tank 20 by fusing or the like, and has an exhaust hole 25a for jetting out a fuel. The jet nozzle 25 is made of resin, and is conductive. A fuel introducing pipe 23 is integrated with the sub tank 20 at the bottom of the sub tank 20 by the same resin material as the sub tank 20, and is conductive. A surplus fuel discharged from a pressure regulator 60 is jetted out toward the fuel introducing pipe 23 from the jet hole 25a of the jet nozzle 25, thus generating a suction pressure that is a negative pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure around an injection fuel. Fuel in the fuel tank is sucked by the fuel introducing pipe 23 by using the suction pressure, and fuel is supplied toward the sub tank 20 through the fuel introducing pipe 23.

A canister 30 stores the activated carbon for adsorbing the evaporated fuel in the fuel tank 1. A pressure pump 40 sucks and pressurizes the evaporated fuel in the canister 30 and discharges the same into the pressure tank 20 to dissolve the evaporated fuel into the liquid fuel in the pressure tank 20.

The pump controller 30 feeds power to a pump body 22 according to engine operation state, so that the pump body 22 of the fuel pump discharges a fuel quantity necessary for the engine and controls the rotational frequency of the pump body 22. The canister 40 adsorbs vaporized fuel inside the fuel tank 10 by activated carbon housed in its interior. Piping 105 is connected to the canister 40, to introduce the atmosphere inside the canister 40. When a solenoid valve 106 is opened, the atmosphere is introduced inside the canister 40 from the piping 105. Since the piping 105 is in contact with the pump controller 30, the atmosphere introduced to the canister 40 by the piping 105 is heated by the pump controller 30 and the temperature of the canister 40 is increased by introducing the heated atmosphere.

SOLUTION: A fuel pressure measuring part 60 is arranged on the fuel outlet side, that is, the downstream of a filter element 21 to thereby measure pressure of the fuel after passing through the filter element 21. Even when the filter element 21 is clogged, an error caused between pressure of the fuel measured by the fuel pressure measuring part 60 by passing through the filter element 21 and pressure of the fuel supplied to an engine is reduced. The fuel pressure measuring part 60 is arranged in the downstream to prevent the fuel including foreign matter from flowing in the fuel pressure measuring part 60. Since a distance between a pump body 12 and the fuel pressure measuring part 60 is near to reduce the error caused between the pressure of the fuel measured by the fuel pressure measuring part 60 and the pressure of the fuel delivered from the pump body 12 to highly accurately control the pressure of the delivering fuel.
