    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pushbutton switch the occupied space of which can be miniaturized while suppressing the rotation of an operating member in its axial direction. SOLUTION: A detent 3c is provided by making the periphery of the flange 3b of a push rod 3 partially project outward on the same plane as the flange 3b, and a groove 5c is formed on the spring housing chamber 5b of a casing 5 to make the detent 3c engaged with the groove 5c. As a result, the minimum occupied space viewed from the direction of the pushing operation of the push rod 3 of a reset switch 1 becomes almost equivalent to the contour of the flange 3b of the push rod 3, and can be made more smaller than the rectangular contour of a guide part formed so as to contain a spring member in a conventional pushbutton switch. SOLUTION: This level detecting and indicating apparatus includes a level detector 1 in which a contact member 15 is slidably placed on a resistor 16 having a sliding contact surface and in which a float disposed within a container of liquid is associated with the contact member 15, so that by causing the contact member 15 to slide over the resistor 16 as the float rises and falls, the level detector 1 outputs a detection signal indicating a resistance value matching the level of the liquid, and a level indicator which calculates an indication of the level according to the detection signal of the level detector 1 and displays the indication. An infinite resistance area 18 wherein electrical resistance is almost infinite is provided on the part of the liquid detector 1 where the contact member 15 is located when almost no liquid is in the container. The liquid detector 1 also has an indication means which causes the level indicator to provide an indication of a less-than-empty condition when a detection signal from the level detector 1 indicates an infinite resistance value.

SOLUTION: In this attaching structure, a protruding member 4, a holding piece 8 for holding an attaching surface 3a and a plurality of pawls 10a are provided as the first engaging means at a body 5 of a liquid-level detector, and a groove 6 and receiving parts 10b are provided as the second engaging means at the attaching surface 3a of an attaching member 3. Furthermore, the thickness of the protruding member 4 in the direction of the groove 6 is set so that the width is equal to or slightly larger than the width of the groove 6. The interval between the holding piece 8 and the contact surface is set so that the interval is equal to or slightly smaller than the plate width of the attaching surface 3a. Thereafter, when the protruding member 4 is inserted into the groove 6, the body 5 and the attaching member 3 are elastically coupled and engaged. Thus, the secure attachment is obtained so that looseness, deviation and disengagement can be prevented when large vibration occurs.
