    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for directly extracting microbial or unicellular oils containing one or more polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and the like from microbial cells without the need of a solvent.SOLUTION: After fermentation, microbial cells are pasteurised and washed, and the cell walls are lysed or disrupted by a mechanical (e.g. homogenization), physical (boiling or drying), chemical (solvents) or enzymatic (cell wall degrading enzymes) technique. The oil (containing the PUFA) is then separated from the resulting cell wall debris. This is achieved by centrifugation, which results in an oily phase (top layer) that contains the oil. The oily phase is separated from an aqueous phase (containing the cell wall debris). The oil is then extracted and if necessary the PUFA is purified or isolated from the oil.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting (and subsequently isolating) an oil derived from microorganisms (or single cells), preferably an oil containing one or more kinds of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) from a single-cell organism (or a microbial cell), and an apparatus therefor.SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of pasteurizing the microbial cell after fermentation, washing the cell and lysing or disrupting the cell wall by a mechanical (e.g. homogenization), physical (boiling or drying), chemical (solvents) or enzymatic (cell wall degrading enzymes) technique; a step to obtain an oily phase (upper layer) containing the oil by centrifugal separation; a step to separate the oily phase from an aqueous phase (containing cell wall debris) and separate the oil (containing PUFA) from the obtained cell wall debris; and a step to extract the oil and optionally purify or isolate the PUFA from the oil.
