PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which has a thermal color developing layer using a developer showing a resistance against various environmental conditions, especially a plasticizer for plastics and the ability to preserve records for a long time, and a new chemical compound which is useful as the developer or the like. SOLUTION: In this thermal recording medium, a thermal color developing layer is provided which contains a colorless or pale-color dye derivative and the developer for developing a color through a chemical reaction with the dye derivative by heat. In addition, the developer is a phenol derivative having at least one sulfur atom and one cyclic imide structure in each molecule and the phenol derivative has at least one sulfur atom and one annular imide structure in one molecule. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a lubricating oil composition for an engine made of an aluminum alloy in which abrasion resistance to a sliding part is excellent in the engine in which the sliding part is the aluminum alloy, and that can decrease ZnDTP and a metal based detergent containing phosphorus voluminously while maintaining the abrasion resistance to the aluminum alloy; and a lubrication method using the same.SOLUTION: A lubricating oil composition comprises a base oil, a succinimide compound and a sulfur-containing heterocyclic compound represented by general formula (I), and has a sulfur content of 0.10 to 1.00 mass% relative to the composition and a phosphorus content of less than 0.03 mass% and a sulfated ash content of less than 0.3 mass% relative to the composition. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound useful as a constituent for an organic electroluminescent (EL) element, and to realize a practical organic EL element low in drive voltage and affording blue luminescence with long service life, high emission efficiency and high color purity through using the above compound. SOLUTION: The new compound is an aminodibenzofluorene derivative having in the molecule, (A) at least one dibenzofluorene structure and (B) at least one or more amino groups. A material for organic EL elements comprising the above compound, a luminescent material for such organic EL elements, and a luminescent organic solution, are also provided, respectively. The organic EL element is such that an organic compound layer composed of one or more layers including at least luminescent layer(s) is sandwiched in between a pair of electrodes, wherein at least one layer of the above organic compound layer contains at least one kind of the above aminodibenzofluorene derivative.
