SOLUTION: In this thermal recording medium, a thermal color developing layer is provided which contains a colorless or pale-color dye derivative and the developer for developing a color through a chemical reaction with the dye derivative by heat. In addition, the developer is a phenol derivative having at least one sulfur atom and one cyclic imide structure in each molecule and the phenol derivative has at least one sulfur atom and one annular imide structure in one molecule.
