PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active energy ray-curable adhesive for polarizing plates, having a high curing rate, a good wetting property and adhesiveness to a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizing film and various protective films, retardation films and optical compensation films in producing a polarizing plate, having low viscosity and good workability, free from generation of uneven adhesion, and exhibiting high adhesive force, high durability, high water resistance and excellent transparency.SOLUTION: There is provided an active energy ray-curable adhesive including 45-95 wt.% of an N-hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylamide, 4-54 wt.% of an N, N-dialkylacrylamide and 0.5-20 wt.% of a linear compound and/or branched compound having two or more vinyl groups on terminals or side chains. A polarizing film is bonded to a protective film, a retardation film or an optical compensation film with the adhesive, and the adhesive is cured by active energy ray irradiation.

Besides, the coating film is obtained by blending the active energy ray-curable coating agent using the above coating composition as a base and by applying and curing the coating agent on the surface of the substrate.
