PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-insoluble ionic vinyl monomer that contains none of metal ions, an organic solvent, and water, is superior in compatibility, moisture resistance, and hydrolysis resistance, and has long-period antistatic effects.SOLUTION: A water-insoluble ionic vinyl monomer represented by general formula [1], where Rand Reach represent a hydrogen atom or methyl group, Rand Rrepresent an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or a benzyl group, and Xrepresents straight-chain sulfonimide anion [(RfSO)(RfSO)N](where Rfand Rfeach represent a perfluoroalkyl group or fluoro group) or cyclic imide anion [CF(CFSO)N]can be obtained by separating an organic solvent phase after anion exchange reaction carried out in a biphasic system in the presence of both a water-insoluble organic solvent and water, bubbling an inert gas etc., after vacuum concentration, and removing the organic solvent and water, and further adding an ion adsorbent to a water phase during the anion exchange reaction.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical agent for papermaking improving yield and productivity in the papermaking process of paper and paperboard without impairing formation of paper; and a method for papermaking using the chemical agent. SOLUTION: In the papermaking method, addition and mixing of the chemical agent for papermaking is performed such that a part of main papermaking raw material flow having passed the last screen is made as a bypass flow, in the papermaking raw material before papermaking; the bypass flow is further divided in two or three; these branch flows are mixed with chemical agents for papermaking by one or two mixing means; and the mixture is returned to the main papermaking raw material flow. The chemical agent for papermaking adaptable to the papermaking method is a water-in-oil type emulsion of water-soluble cationic or ampholytic polymer. obtained by emulsion polymerization of a vinylic monomer or a mixture thereof, whose viscosity in 0.2% aqueous solution is 300 mPa s or lower. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionic water-soluble polymer which is low in transport cost and environmental load and a method for producing the same, and to provide a cationic water-soluble polymer which exhibits excellent functions in application to a flocculant, in particular, in application to dehydration of sludge and dehydration of paper sludge and in a method for making paper from papermaking stock after adding the polymer to the stock. SOLUTION: The ionic water-soluble polymer is obtained by preparing a dispersion comprising a continuous phase containing a dispersant and a hydrophobic dispersion medium and a dispersed phase essentially containing a cationic monomer and a polyfunctional monomer having a plurality of unsaturated double bonds, subjecting the dispersion to reversed phase suspension polymerization, and drying the resultant polymer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte material which is an anion exchange membrane having high heat resistance to such a degree that the material can be put into practical use as solid electrolyte membranes (ionic conductive membranes) of fuel cells. SOLUTION: The solid electrolyte material is a material used in solid electrolytes containing a crosslinked polymer. The crosslinked polymer has a tertiary amine structure and an OH-type quaternary ammonium salt structure in its crosslinked structure. The crosslinked structure is formed by forming a crosslinked body from a polymer compound having a tertiary amine structure and a quaternary ammonium salt structure by a crosslinking agent, and then converting the crosslinked body into an OH-type quaternary ammonium salt structure by anion exchange.
