    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of improving shock characteristics.
    SOLUTION: This disk device is provided with a base, a disk rotated by a spindle motor, and a carriage having an arm rotated around a pivot shaft. The base has primary and secondary vibration modes as reference vibration modes regarding frequency response characteristics when the disk device is vibrated. The secondary vibration mode has a low frequency side secondary vibration mode (Base 2nd-1) where a peak is generated in a waveform on a low frequency side and a high frequency side secondary vibration mode (Base 2nd-2) where a peak is generated in a waveform on a high frequency side. The two secondary vibration modes (Base 2nd-1) (Base 2nd-2) have a relation between each other that the phase of a pivot position is reversed between the two secondary vibration modes. The frequency of the primary bending mode of the arm is set in the frequency band of a trough formed between the two secondary vibration modes.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension for disk device capable of avoiding the deformation of a wiring part from reaching a flexure. SOLUTION: This suspension 10 is provided with a load beam 11 and the flexure 12 supported by the load beam 11. A tang 20 and one pair of outrigger part 21 positioning at both sides of the tang part 20 are provided in the flexure 12. A slider is supported by the tang part 20. A wiring part 40 is provided in the flexure 12. The wiring part 40 includes an insulating resin layer and a conductive layer having a prescribed pattern, formed on the flexure 12. Intermediate flexible parts 40a are provided in areas along the outrigger parts 21 of the wiring part 40. The intermediate flexible part 40a are speparated from the tang part 20 and the outrigger parts 21 and are made to be in suspended states in the gaps 27 between the tang part 20 and the outrigger parts 21.
