SOLUTION: This ignition tool is provided with a friction agent holding part constituted by winding a thin metallic wire in a cylindrical shape and a controlling part extending from the friction agent holding part. Since friction agent is adhered to the friction agent holding part, the ignition tool is composed by only one part having the simple structure, and the ignition tool is easily ignited. Also, the ignition tool excels in productivity.

SOLUTION: This initiator comprises conductive parts 23 placed oppositely to each other, a pair of terminals 12 connected by solder 24, and a resistor element 22b connecting the terminals 12 to each other. In the initiator 1, the element 22b is heated by electric signals issued to the terminals to burn ignition charge 31. The solder 24 covers up to the edge of the connection part of each conductive part 23 connected to the resistor element 22b.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator with excellent response to input of an electrical signal, and allowing usage of igniter not consisting of lead but a mixture of zirconium and perchloric acid potassium as a main component. SOLUTION: The width of a heating part 16a is gradually decreased as it is separated from each current transfer pin 11. A minimum cross section part is formed at the junction of a part where the width of the heating part 16a decreases. Gold plating 17 is applied to heating elements 16 except the heating part 16a, and a varistor 19 is disposed in parallel with the heating part 16a. Each part is electrically and mechanically connected with solder 18 not containing lead. An igniter 21 consists of a mixture of zirconium and perchloric acid potassium as a main component. The minimum firing current is below 0.8A with the energizing time of 2 msec at a voltage of ±25 kV, malfunction is prevented even if discharge of a 150 pF capacitor is applied 30 times with a 150 Ω resistor connected with the heating part 16a in series. 摘要: PURPOSE:To provide a mechanical ignition type gas generator excellent in a dampproofing property by making a gasket of unvulcanized rubber. CONSTITUTION:A gasket made of unvulcanized rubber flows in the lateral direction incomparably larger than vulcanized rubber at the time when pressure is applied on it from the vertical direction. Consequently, an adaptor which is a passage of moisture and the gasket and the gasket and a thin film are tightly adhered with each other, and unvulcanized rubber 3 enters a clearance 10 between a case and the adaptor. Additionally, the unvulcanized rubber 3 is tightly adhered on the irregular surface of the clearance, too, and works as a sealant. Consequently, as it is possible to seal even if outer diametrical dimension of the gasket is small and the clearance is large due to the tolerance of each part, a perfect dampproofing property is displayed.

SOLUTION: The gas generator used suitably for a safety device for a vehicle such as a seat belt, an air bag or the like comprises a connector mounting hole 2 at one end of a foundation base 1 as a base, and a seat 3 for forming an igniter at the other end side. An ignition explosive powder 14 is arranged at a resistor on a printed board 8 fixed to the base 1 to constitute an igniter 100. An outer cylinder 16 is provided on a periphery of the igniter 100, an igniting explosive powder 18 and a gas generator 19 are mixed and filled in the cylinder 16, and mounted at the base 1 to constitute the gas generator 200. When a collision of the vehicle is sensed and the resistor between electrode pins 7 is heated by a current supply so that the powder 14 is ignited to burn the generator 19, and the safety device for the vehicle is operated by the generated gas.

摘要: PURPOSE: To hold the performance of a gas generator unchanged in a high temperature atmosphere and improve its safety and waterproof performance by containing a gas generation agent including smokeless powder and gas absorption agent in a gas generator which is used for a seat bolt device for automobiles. CONSTITUTION: A case 1 is charged with a gas generation agent 2 comprising smokeless powder and ignition agent. A holder 3 is inserted into an upper section of the case 1, and a stub cap 4 is press fitted at the center section of the holder 3, and a titanium foil 5 and gasket 6 are placed on the top of the holder 3 in order. In addition, an adapter 7 is inserted into the top 9 of the case 1, and a groove 8 is formed in the adapter 7, and a striker hole 10 is made in the adapter 7. The stub cap 4 is ignited by the striker plunging into the striker hole 10, and the gas generation agent 2 is burnt by this flame to send out high pressure gas. This constitution holds the performance of a gas generator mainly in high temperature atmosphere unchanged and improves its safety and waterproof performance.
