A rechargeable battery includes a housing having a housing wall, at least one cell in the housing, and a contact element electrically connected to the at least one cell. The rechargeable battery also includes a plastic sealing element extrusion-coated on the contact element. The sealing element includes a supporting surface which lies flat against the housing wall at an interface. The supporting surface is transmission laser-welded to the housing wall at the interface. One of the supporting surface and the housing wall is at least partially transparent for the laser beam and the other of the supporting surface and the housing wall is absorbent for the laser beam.

SOLUTION: The spout stopper includes: a spout 10 provided for a discharging hole 42 in a packaging container molded from a web of laminated packaging material, and having a discharging tube 5 and basal portion 6 formed by injection molding; a breakable sealing wall 9; and a cap 11 covering the spout. A first and a second object (1 and 2) are joined with the aid of a joining element (8) comprising at least in the region of its distal and proximal end (8.1 and 8.2) a thermoplastic material. Two blind holes (5 and 6) facing each other are provided in the two objects (1 and 2) and the joining element (8) is positioned in the blind holes such that its distal and proximal ends (8.1) are in contact with the bottom faces of the blind holes and such that there is a gap (9) between the two objects (1 and 2). This assembly is then positioned between a support (3) and a sonotrode (4). The sonotrode (4) and the support (3) are forced towards each other, while the sonotrode (4) is vibrated, thereby liquefying at least part of the material having thermoplastic properties, there, where the joining element ends (8.1 and 8.2) are pressed against the bottom faces of the holes (5 and 6) and allowing the liquefied material to infiltrate into pores of the hole surfaces or unevennesses or openings provided in the hole surfaces, such anchoring the joining element ends (8.1 and 8.2) in the objects (1 and 2). For achieving suitably similar anchorage qualities at the two joining element ends (8.1 and 8.2), the distal end (8.1) of the joining element (8) has a smaller face area and comprises less thermoplastic material than the proximal end (8.2) of the joining element.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable filter in which a holding frame and a case member of a filter element are firmly joinable by a laser welding. SOLUTION: The filter 1 includes a first case member (bottom case 2), a second case member made of resin (top case 3) and a filter element 8 having a filter medium 6 and a holding frame 7 made of resin holding the peripheral end of the filter medium. The holding frame is held between holding parts 10 and 13 prepared in each of the first and second case members, and possesses a plurality of holding frame side projections 20a, 20b projecting in a holding direction P1 and placed by being shifted in a direction P2 intersecting the holding direction. The holding part of the second case member possesses a plurality of case side projections 21a, 21b projecting in a holding direction and placed by being shifted in a direction P2 intersecting the intersecting direction. The plurality of holding frame side projections and the case side projections are respectively brought in contact with each other on a plane along the holding direction, and laser welded parts w1 and w2 are formed at the contact points. SOLUTION: In the method for laser-welding, a pair of protrusions are formed by a protrusion 101a mounted on a transparent resin material 101. An engagement surface 105 is composed of an engagement surface 105a formed by the contact of the facing surfaces of both resin materials with each other in a press direction and an engagement surface 105b formed by the contact of the inner surface of the protrusion 101a mounted on the transparent resin material 101 with the outer surface of an absorbing resin material 102. The lower end surface of the protrusion 101a is exposed. The center of the engagement surface 105a is irradiated with the laser light 103, with both the resins pressed and engaged with each other. Method for sealing plastic capsules (consisting of at least two telescopically fitting parts) by welding, involves applying energy from a jet of hot gas or a laser beam during relative movement around the vertical axis of the overlapping regions of the capsule parts, such that the capsule material is melted (but not decomposed) in this region and the overlapping regions are securely sealed by a seam region. Independent claims are also included for: (1) capsules welded by the process; (2) a capsule holder for use in the process, consisting of at least two parts which enclose the capsule such that the region to be welded is uncovered to a width of up to 3 mm for application of the radiation; and (3) apparatus for carrying out the process, consisting of apparatus for delivering the laser beam or jet of hot gas, a capsule holder as in (ii) and apparatus (preferably part of an assembly line) for exposing the capsule holder to the energy source.
