PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent skewing of paper in a paper feeder constituted to deliver the paper by a pickup roller and to separate the paper by a separating means arranged in the downstream side thereof. SOLUTION: A pickup roller 22 delivering paper from a paper feeding cassette 20 is arranged in a rocking member 23 rockable around a rocking shaft 17. A route extension part 26 is arranged in the rocking member 23, and the route extension part 26 is disposed in a position separated from a position of the pickup roller 22 and a retard roller 21 in the paper width direction toward the other side (80th digit side). The paper is bent between the pickup roller 22 and the retard roller 21 by receiving a load from the retard roller 21, and even if the feeding route length in the pickup roller 22 position is extended, the paper route length in the position apart from the pickup roller 22 is extended by the route extension part 26 thereby skewing of the paper can be prevented. SOLUTION: In this paper reversing device, when a first guide member 95 is displaced in the direction C, a guide part 954 of the first guide member 95 advances a first ring path, a recording paper P advancing a path between an inner side guide member 33 and a second flap 38 is guided from a clearance formed between the inner side guide member 33 and an inner side guide member 34 into a space 40 in the inside, and the recording paper P guided into the space 40 in the inside is conveyed along a paper guide face constituted by the first guide member 95 and a second guide member 96 by rotation of a first reversing drive roller 41. The device (1) has an actuation device (40) for opening and closing two set of grippers (12, 22) such that objects (2) are transferred from one set of grippers to another set of grippers in a transfer region (T). Distances (d1, d1') between the former set in front of the region are smaller than distances between the latter set. The distances of the former set in the region are reduced with respect to the distances of the former set in front of the region or the distances of the latter set in the region are increased with respect to the distances of the latter set in front of the region. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring a flexible flat object between two conveyors.
