    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more industrial method for producing β-santalol and a derivative thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a compound (I) which is a direct precursor of β-santalol, the method comprising the steps of: a) obtaining a compound of the formula (I-a) (wherein, Rrepresents a Si(R)or a (R)COH group (Rand Reach independently represents a Cgroup or a phenyl group) by reacting 2-R-3-methylene-bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane (wherein, R has the same meaning as the case of the compound (I)) with a compound of the formula: R-C≡CCHO [wherein, Rrepresents a Si(R)group or a (R)COH group (Rand Reach independently represents a Cgroup or a phenyl group] in the presence of Al, B or Sn derivative Lewis acid as a catalyst ("en" reaction); and b) obtaining the compound (I) by treating the resulting compound (I-a) with a proper base or a fluorine salt.
