PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing benzoindene prostaglandin and intermediate thereof.SOLUTION: Treprostinil is synthesized such that: an optically active cyclopentanone derivative is used as a raw material; the intermediate of the composition of the chemical formula is synthesized by reaction with (1E)-tributyl-stannyl-(3S)-tert-butyldimethylsilioxyoctene or the like, and further through methylenization, cyclization by intramolecular alkylation, elimination of protective group, or the like. In formula, Bn represents a benzyl group, and TBS represents tert-butyldimethylsiloxy.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new preparation process of an optically active cyclopentenone useful for the production of prostaglandin and its analog and provide a new cyclopentenone prepared by the process. SOLUTION: The optically active compound of formula (R)-1 is produced by enantio-selectively acylating a racemic mixture containing the compound of formula (R)-1 with a lipase, removing unreacted alcohol and hydrolyzing the product. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel cyclopentenone useful for producing benzindene prostaglandin.SOLUTION: There are provided a method for producing a racemic cyclopentenone represented by formula I by which a protected 3-hydroxyphenylacetate shown by formula V and furan are reacted to form 2-acylfuran represented by formula IV, the acylfuran and a reducing agent are then reacted to form a furan carbinol represented by formula III and the furan carbinol is rearranged and isomerized to form a racemic cyclopentenone represented by formula I, and a method for producing an optically active cyclopentenone by which the racemic body is divided by using lipase.
