PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which weld can be performed at a predetermined position and which is less likely to generate optical axis deviation and insufficiency in strength, when an optical communication unit is aligned in such an angle with respect to a module body that an optical axis of the optical communication unit is not parallel to a fiber axis, and is fixed by welding.SOLUTION: The optical module is formed by attaching at least one optical communication unit 3 to a module body 9 by welding, in a predetermined direction where an optical axis D2 of the optical communication unit is not parallel to a fiber axis C. The module body 9 is provided with a through hole penetrating in a predetermined direction and includes an insertion member 10 inserted and fixed to the through hole so that both ends are exposed from the module body 9. One end of the insertion member is formed as a holding part 10a for holding and fixing the module body when the optical communication unit is aligned and welded, and the other end is formed as an alignment and weld part 10b with respect to the optical communication unit 3.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver capable of reducing a stress at an electric connection between a circuit board and a plug connector.SOLUTION: An optical transceiver 10 comprises a plurality of optical subassemblies 12 and 14, a circuit board 16, a housing, a plug connector 30, and elastic members 34 and 36. The circuit board, which is electrically connected to the plurality of optical subassemblies, has a card edge connector 16a. The housing is arranged so as to cover them. The plug connector has an electric connector part 30a and a socket part 30b in which the card edge connector is inserted. The socket part electrically connects the electric connector part and the card edge connector. The elastic members are arranged between the housing and the circuit board. The plug connector is fixed to the housing. The circuit board is held by the housing via the elastic members.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver having an electromagnetic shielding capability between an optical receptacle and a housing.SOLUTION: An optical transceiver 10 comprises an optical receptacle 18 and a circuit board 16 provided in a housing 48, 50. The optical receptacle 18 includes a rear wall part. The rear wall part is in contact with a sleeve flange. The housing 48, 50 has a first wall which defines a portion mounted with the optical receptacle 18. A shield sheet 22 having elasticity and conductivity is held between the rear wall part of the optical receptacle 18 and the first wall of the housing 48, 50. A front cover 24 fixed to the housing 48, 50 has a pressing part which presses the optical receptacle 18 to the first wall of the housing 48, 50.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module in which productivity is improved, and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical communication module. SOLUTION: The optical communication module includes a plurality of optical sub-assemblies, an optical unit, a plurality of optical fibers and a housing. The plurality of optical sub-assemblies include a plurality of optical transmission sub-assemblies which transform electric signals to optical signals, and a plurality of optical reception sub-assemblies which transform the optical signals to the electric signals. The optical unit includes an optical multiplexer 22 which transforms the optical signals from the plurality of optical transmission sub-assemblies to a multiplexed optical signal to output the multiplexed optical signal, and an optical demultiplexer 24 which distributes the input multiplexed optical signal to be outputted to the plurality of optical reception sub-assemblies. The plurality of optical fibers connect the plurality of optical sub-assemblies and an optical unit. The housing demarcates a space mounted with the plurality of optical sub-assemblies, the optical unit and the plurality of optical fibers. On the inner face of the housing, housing grooves for housing the plurality of optical fibers are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
