SOLUTION: The method for producing dibasic acid comprises oxidizing 2-hydroxycycrododecanone with an oxidizer which 2-hydroxycycrododecanone is obtained by hydrogen reduction of 1,2-dihydroxy-5,9-cycrododecadiene (a) in the presence of a platinum group catalyst, (b) at 0.01-4 MPa hydrogen pressure and (c) at 40°C-230°C reaction temperature.
