    SOLUTION: The rubber composition for coating the steel cord contains a nano-composite formed by finely dispersing a layered clay mineral in a rubber component. The steel cord/rubber composite comprises the rubber composition for coating the steel cord and the steel cord. The content of the layered clay mineral is preferably 3-30 pts. by mass based on 100 pts. by mass of the rubber component. The rubber component preferably contains a natural rubber as a main component.
