Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet ray hardenable topcoat composition excellent in adhesion to a deposited metal layer and the balance between abrasion resistance and moisture resistance, and an article coated with the same. SOLUTION: The composition comprises (1) 5-90 pts.wt. of a ketone resin and 95-10 pts.wt. of an ultraviolet ray hardenable vinyl compound having at least one double bond in a molecule, and (2) 0.01-20 pts.wt. of a photoinitiator per 100 pts.wt. of the ultraviolet ray hardenable vinyl compound. The coated article is coated with such composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject material for forming a protective membrane readily degrading at low temperature even under a normal pressure, hardly causing remains and readily treated by using a low-temperature-decomposable copolymer consisting essentially of a (meth)acrolein structural unit. SOLUTION: This material for forming a coating membrane consists essentially of a low-temperature-decomposable copolymer including a (meth)acrolein structural unit of the formula (R is H or methyl). The copolymer can contain a (meth)acrylic monomer structural unit without the before unit. An emulsion polymerization by dispersing polymeric monomers consisting essentially of the (meth)acrolein and the (meth)acrylic monomer in a medium, a suspension polymerization, etc., are carried out besides a bulk polymerization and a solution polymerization to provide the low-temperature-decomposable copolymer. The proportion of the (meth)acrolein structural unit in the copolymer is 1-90 wt.% of the whole copolymer. The material for forming the coating membrane can temporarily form a protective surface film on the surface of a substrate, and can be removed by heating the material to >=70 deg.C.

PURPOSE:To provide an interior water paint which produce no bleedings even when applied on a dirty wall or a roof cover by using a mixture of a dihydrazide compound and a water-dispersed carbonylated copolymer emulsion. CONSTITUTION:A water-dispersed emulsion of a copolymer having carbonyl groups is obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a mixture of 0.1 to 30wt.% polymerizable monomer having one or more carbonyl groups in the molecule (e.g. diacetone acrylamide), 0 to 10wt.% monomer selected among monoolefinically unsaturated 3-5C carboxylic acids (amides), and 60 to 99.9wt.% monomer selected among vinyl-substituted aromatic compounds and n-alkyl (meth) acrylate having 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain. Then, a hydrazide compound having two or more hydrazino groups (e.g. adipohydrazide) is mixed with the resulting emulsion in a molar ratio of the hydrazino group to the carbonyl group of the copolymer of (0.02-3):1.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating agent composition having high compatibility of an ultraviolet absorber with a resin and excellent in light resistance, durability, transparency, hard coating and antifouling properties. SOLUTION: This silicone-containing polymeric ultraviolet absorber is obtained by polymerizing (A) an ultraviolet absorbing monomer selected from a benzophenone-based ultraviolet absorbing monomer represented by formula (1) (e.g. 2-hydroxy-4-methacryloyloxybenzophenone) and a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorbing monomer represented by formula (2) (e.g. 2-[2'- hydroxy-5'-(methacryloyloxy)phenyl]benzotriazole) with (B) a silicone macromer represented by formula (3) (wherein (n) is an integer of 1-200) (e.g. 1-(3- methacryloxypropyl)polydimethylsiloxane), (C) a functional group-containing copolymerizable vinyl monomer and (D) a copolymerizable vinyl compound without containing any functional group. The coating agent composition and a coated product use the ultraviolet absorber.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To subject a substrate to tandem coating and to improve durability by forming a highly crosslinked coating using a UV-curing compsn. and a coating using an aq. compsn. contg. a polymer contg. a monomer capable of imparting a carbonyl pendant functional group. SOLUTION: When a substrate is subjected to tandem coating, a highly crosslinked 1st coating is first formed using a UV-curing compsn. and then a 2nd coating is formed using an aq. compsn. contg. a polymer contg. at least one kind of monomer capable of imparting a carbonyl pendant functional group to the polymer as a polymerizable unit. The monomer is, e.g. an ethylene ureido- contg. monomer or a cyanoacetoxy-contg. monomer and may be a monomer represented by formula I, II or III.
