PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio frequency (RF) driver amplifier system and method that provides linear in decibel gain control. SOLUTION: An RF driver amplifier system includes a linear transconductor receiving an input voltage and providing a controlled current on the basis of input voltage received, temperature compensation circuitry for varying power from the linear transconductor according to absolute temperature, an exponential current controller receiving power varied according to temperature and providing an exponential current in response, and an inductive degeneration compensator receiving exponential current and providing a control current to driver amplifier circuitry, thereby compensating for inductive degeneration due to at least one inductor in the driver amplifier circuitry. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AGC (Automatic Gain Control) circuit performing stable temperature control by reducing errors, caused by the temperature correction for gain characteristics of AGC amplifiers. SOLUTION: The AGC circuit 11 includes a plurality of AGC amplifiers 12, 13 arrayed in series and controls in parallel gains of the plurality of AGC amplifiers 12, 13 in accordance with a common AGC voltage. The AGC circuit 11 further includes a linearity correction circuit 14 for correcting the AGC voltage in such a way that output characteristics from the plurality of AGC amplifiers 12, 13 become linear with respect to the AGC voltage. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier for audio can suppress the occurrence of a power supply bus pumping phenomenon by preventing the enlargement of capacities in power supply smoothing elements to be used for a power supply circuit and also suppressing the deterioration in an amplified analog signal. SOLUTION: When the power supply bus pumping occurs and a positive power supply voltage +V and a negative power supply voltage -V are raised to exceed prescribed values, a low frequency signal included in the input analog signal is attenuated by a high-pass filter 5 and output to an amplifier circuit 3. Then, the voltage values of the positive power supply voltage +V and the negative power supply voltage -V are prevented from being raised. Consequently, the occurrence of the power supply bus pumping is suppressed without performing the enlargement of the capacities of smoothing capacitors C1, C2. In a state where the power supply bus pumping does not occur, the input analog signal is output to the amplifier circuit 3 without being attenuated by the high-pass filter 5. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable gain amplifier circuit for which a change in input/output impedance which appears when the gain changes can be corrected. SOLUTION: In the variable gain amplifier circuit, a function circuit having capacitance function is connected to the input terminal of a transistor 101 for signal amplification. By controlling the function circuit having the variable capacitance function, a change can be corrected in the base-emitter capacitance value of the transistor for signal amplification when the gain changes, resulting in leading to suppression of a change in input/output impedance.
