摘要: PURPOSE: A starch-bound article including a hinge structure being integrally formed in the article and a manufacturing method and a device for the hinged article are provided. CONSTITUTION: Method and systems for forming hinged starch-bound matrices. Starch-based compositions are molded between heated molds in order to form a cellular matrix and also to remove water from the starch-based compositions in order to form a binding matrix of solidified starch. The molding apparatus is configured to form one or more creases (230) within the hinge structure (200) in order to define one or more lines upon which the hinge will bend. The molding apparatus is also configured such that the region of the mold corresponding to the inner surface of the hinge area will transfer heat more slowly to the interior skin portion (224) of the inner hinge surface, resulting in reduced thickness of the skin of the inner hinge. This increases the collapsibility, or ability of the inner surface of the hinge to fold or buckle, during the bending action. This in turn reduces the bending radius of the hinge such that the hinging action exerts less strain on the outer surface of the hinge. The inner surface of the hinge may optionally by treated with glycerin or other polyol to soften the inner surface. The exterior skin portion (226) of the hinge may optionally be coated with an elastomeric material, such as polyvinyl alcohol, in order to strengthen the outer surface and reduce its tendency to fracture during the hinging action.

摘要: Compositions and methods for manufacturing sheets having a starch-bound matrix reinforced with fibers and optionally including an inorganic mineral filler. Suitable mixtures for forming the sheets are prepared by mixing together water, unmodified and ungelatinized starch granules, a cellulosic ether, fibers, and optionally an inorganic mineral filler in the correct proportions to form a sheet having desired properties. The mixtures are formed into sheets by passing them between one or more sets of heated rollers to form green sheets. The heated rollers cause the cellulosic ether to form a skin on the outer surfaces of the sheet that prevents the starch granules from causing the sheet to adhere to the rollers upon gelation of the starch. The green sheets are passed between heated rollers to gelatinize the starch granules, and then to dry the sheet by removing a substantial portion of the water by evaporation. The starch and cellulosic ether form the binding matrix of the sheets with the fibers and optional inorganic filler dispersed throughout the binding matrix. The starch-bound sheets can be cut, rolled, pressed, scored, perforated, folded, and glued to fashion articles from the sheets much like paper or paperboard. The sheets are particularly useful in the mass production of containers, such as food and beverage containers.

摘要: PURPOSE: A new composition and the method are provided to manufacture a container which can be sealed, making liquid tight, with pressure-proof property and a thin wall. CONSTITUTION: The sealable container which has a liquid sealing barrier contains: a mineral filling matrix molded from mineral filling mixture that is water; an organic polymer binder selected from a polysaccharide, a protein, or mixture and inducer of those matter; a mineral condensing body occupies 20-90% of a solid inside the mixture; and a fiber material. The fiber material disperses regularly to the mineral filled matrix and has an organic element that occupies 5wt% of the solid inside the mineral filled matrix. Also the mineral filled matrix is less that 1cm thickness.

摘要: PURPOSE: A fiber is provided to sediment an ettringite crystalline on the surface of the fiber or the other disposition in a hydrogenous medium. CONSTITUTION: An ettringite coated agglomerate is manufactured by: generating an ettringite in a hydrogenous slurry while being near a fiber, an agglomerate, or other filling material for forming a mineralized complex material including an ettringite treated fiber, agglomerate, or other filling material; and the ettringite treated fiber, agglomerate, and other filling material reacting in the existence of water for forming the ettringite by adding a reactive material such as a calcium oxide and a sulfuric aluminium being sedimented to the surface of the treated fiber or the other disposition. Therefore, the ettringite treated fiber, agglomerate, and other filling material are added to a hydrogenous hardening material for improving a chemical and a mechanical combinations between the fiber and other dispositions in a concrete material.
