    摘要: Disclosed is a method for diagnosing the abnormality of an automobile catalyst converter using an exponentially weighed moving average (EWMA) capable of increasing the reliability of an error criteria. The method for diagnosing the abnormality of a catalyst converter according to the present invention comprises a step (a) of calculating the EWMA of each parameter on the revolutions per minute of an engine (N), the amount of intake air (MAF), the output value of a fuel controller (LAM); a step (b) of dividing all the output values of each parameter into a first state (STATE_1) and a second state (STATE_2); a step (c) of performing a cumulative count for a preset time and calculating a cumulative difference value (V_dif_int) between the reference and actual voltages of an oxygen sensor for the relevant count when one among the states (STATE_1 and STATE_2) is selected in the step (b); and a step of (d) of calculating the EWMA using the difference value (V_dif_int) and a difference value (V_dif_int′) between the reference and actual voltages of the oxygen sensor in a previous state, and diagnosing the catalyst converter as an abnormal state if the EWMA goes beyond a preset reference range. Thus, the present invention can increase the reliability of the error criteria by calculating the cumulative difference between the reference and actual voltages of the rear oxygen sensor according to the variation degree of each parameter.
