    摘要: A gas bag module for use in vehicles has a housing and an inflator arranged on the bottom of the housing. A normally folded gas bag is accommodated within the housing. A diffusor is arranged between the inflator and the folded gas bag. The diffusor consists of a first diffusor part fixed to the bottom of the housing and a second diffusor part movably mounted on the first diffusor part. The second diffusor part is movable with respect to the first diffusor part from a normal retracted position closer to the bottom of the housing to an advanced position further away from the bottom of the housing under the action of gas pressure generated by the inflator.

The sensor (46, 48, 50 or 52) provides a signal indicative of the position of the occupant (42). A rear impact sensor (60) senses a rear impact crash event and provides a signal indicative thereof. A controller (44), in response to the first sensor signal, determines a condition according to the relative position of the occupant (42) with respect to the vehicle seat (12). The controller (44) selectively actuates the rear impact occupant protection device (40) in response to the rear impact sensor signal and the condition.

The support element, after activation of the gas generator, is exposed to a force resulting from the compressed gas produced by the gas generator and biases the cover into the opened position.

    摘要: A fastener device for arresting a hub of a vehicle steering wheel to one end of a steering shaft includes a non-rotatable shaft/hub connection between the hub and the end of the steering shaft and an annular spring element which forms an interlocking fit between the hub and the steering shaft. The interlocking fit is effective in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the steering shaft. The steering shaft comprises a raised face, the face surface area of which facing away from the steering wheel continues into a smaller shaft diameter. The vehicle steering wheel comprises a hub and a steering wheel body with a gas bag cover which is an integral part of the steering wheel body. A bracing surface is formed on the hub and a holding surface is formed on the steering wheel body. The holding section of the gas bag and the bracing section of the gas generator are clamped between the holding surface of the steering wheel body and the bracing surface of the hub by bracing the hub against a steering wheel body.

    摘要: A headrest in a vehicle seat includes an inflatable protective cushion in which the contact surface area is increased and caused to approach the head without needing to provide burst seams in the upholstery or in the cover or to make use of an elastic covering material. The protective cushion is arranged between the headrest frame member and the upholstery. The cover or the upholstery is joined at its outer circumference by jointing means to the headrest frame member. The jointing means maintain the cover, or the upholstery, tensioned in the non-activated condition of the protective cushion and permit a limited displacement of the outer circumference of the cover, or upholstery, from the headrest frame member in the activated condition of the protective cushion. The upholstery may thus be brought by the protective cushion nearer to the head and the contact surface area may be enlarged without destroying the cover or upholstery.
