Abstract:
A biosensor for quantifying an analyte in a sample and usage thereof are provided. The biosensor includes an insulative substrate, a cover, a sample supply port, an electrode system including at least a working electrode, a counter electrode and a third electrode, and a reaction layer at least formed over the working electrode. The third electrode, used for estimating whether the amount of the sample is sufficient, is disposed nearer to the sample supply port than the counter electrode is. Whether the amount of the added sample is sufficient is estimated by comparing the electrical current value detected between the working electrode and the counter electrode with the electrical current value detected between the working electrode and the third electrode. This invention has a simple structure and produces accurate measurements.
Abstract:
Method for preparation of anode film for thin film battery comprises: providing a target material to provide Li ion and Ti ion and a substrate comprising a base layer, a buffer layer and a precious metal current collector layer; sputtering LiMO layer on a said substrate at high temperature in a vacuum chamber and obtaining the anode film for thin film battery of this invention. In this invention, material for the precious metal current collector may be a precious metal such as Ag, Au, Pt etc., the alloy and oxides of these metals. The sputtering temperature may be above 300° C., preferably above 500° C. and most preferably above 650° C. The anode thin film material so prepared may be Li4Ti5O12. This invention also discloses anode film so prepared and thin film battery using such anode film.
Abstract:
An improved motor housing with a slop structure at one side of the housing, the slot structure is arranged with ledges along its outer edges in which several threaded holes are provided for placing bolts through which clamping level of the outer body can be controlled so that a stator core can be inserted or removed easily and repeatedly, resulting in low cost, simplified assembling process, and facilitating modification and test of a motor in the development stage in research institutions.
Abstract:
In a data region of each microdot block on a microdot matrix, a coordinate of each the microdot block on the microdot matrix is encoded into a plurality of microdots included by the data region according to an encoding method based on Reflected Gray codes. With the aid of a unique changed bit between any two consecutive Reflected Gray codes, an estimated coordinate of a frame, which is fetched by scanning the microdot matrix, on the microdot matrix, may still be decoded even if no complete microdot block is fetched within the frame.
Abstract:
The present invention provides biosensor test devices for measuring the presence or amount of an analyte in a biological fluid. The devices have a base plate that has an electrode system embedded therein, and a hydrophilic porous material situated on the base plate. A hydrophobic protective layer is situated on the hydrophilic porous material, and a cover is placed on the hydrophobic protective layer to complete the device. Some embodiments also use an insulating layer, which can be situated between the base layer and the hydrophilic porous material. The cover of the device has an opening present therein, situated over the electrodes, so that the electrodes communicate with the exterior of the device through the groove. The insulating layer can also have a groove situated therein, which in one embodiment is placed to align with the groove in the cover. The invention also provides methods of manufacturing the devices, and methods of using them.
Abstract:
The valve with an improved junk ring structure is composed of a main body, a valve disk, a washer and a junk ring. The main body has on one side thereof a stepped surface of which the outermost end has a screw thread portion on the inner wall thereof, the main body has on an inner wall thereof a protrusion. An upper and a lower pivotally connecting block are provided on the valve disk, and are movably connected by an axle provided on the main body. The junk ring has on the outer wall of the periphery thereof a screw thread portion mating with the screw thread portion of the main body. The washer is placed between the main body and the junk ring. By the arrangement of two screw threads (or multiple screw threads) with an identical screwing direction provided respectively on both the screw thread portions of the main body and of the junk ring, the entire valve can be assembled firmer and more convenient, the threads can be formed on a lathe simultaneously to reduce the number of times and the cost of production.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to spring-activated devices and methods for lancing the skin to obtain a small amount of blood for metabolic testing. In one embodiment, the depth penetration of the lancet needle can be seen by the patient during lancing the skin. In another embodiment, the device has only five moving parts for cocking and firing, a plunger, two springs, a slider and a button. In order to reduce manufacturing costs, the number of parts used in the device has been reduced and their configuration has been simplified to reduce construction time, and thereby save on labor costs.
