Abstract: Completion times of data storage operations targeted to a non-volatile, solid-state memory device are measured. Wear of the memory device is estimated using the measured completion times, and life cycle management operations are performed to affect subsequent wear of the memory device in accordance with the estimated wear. The life cycle management may include operations such as wear leveling, predicting an end of service life of the memory device, and removing worn blocks of the memory device from service.

Abstract: A lens alignment system and method is disclosed. The disclosed system/method integrates one or more lens retaining members/tubes (LRM/LRT) and focal length spacers (FLS) each comprising a metallic material product (MMP) specifically manufactured to have a thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) in a predetermined range via selection of the individual MMP materials and an associated MMP manufacturing process providing for controlled TEC. This controlled LRM/LRT TEC enables a plurality of optical lenses (POL) fixed along a common optical axis (COA) by the LRM/LRT to maintain precise interspatial alignment characteristics that ensure consistent and/or controlled series focal length (SFL) within the POL to generate a thermally neutral optical system (TNOS). Integration of the POL using this LRM/LRT/FLS lens alignment system reduces the overall TNOS implementation cost, reduces the overall TNOS mass, reduces TNOS parts component count, and increases the reliability of the overall optical system.

Abstract: The present technology enables viewing, analyzing, and improve a variety of motions for a subject by facilitating comparison to a target video. Motions can include activities such as walking, athletic activities, and educational activities. The comparison can be accomplished by adjusting spatial aspects of a target and subject video to match. The comparison can also include identifying synchronization points, between the videos, that identify a temporal correspondence between of motions or objects in the videos and adjusting playback of one or more segments in the videos so corresponding synchronization points are displayed at the same time during playback. A version of one of the videos can be provided as an outline or as partially transparent, which can be overlaid with the other video to create a video combination for playback.
