The apparatus further comprises a plurality of ECG interpretation algorithms, each of the algorithms specifically tailored for analyzing a twelve lead ECG comprising both measured and derived ECG leads. The method of the present invention comprises determining whether an ECG lead is measured or derived and selecting an ECG interpretation algorithm based upon this determination.

An apparatus for producing a trigger signal, for use with a medical device, that is synchronized to a heartbeat in a subject of interest. The apparatus includes a sensor for obtaining ECG data from the subject of interest. The apparatus further includes a processor coupled to the sensor, with the processor configured to generate the trigger signal based on a real time analysis of the ECG data and to only synchronize and transmit the trigger signal to the medical device if a pre-selected characteristic of the heartbeat is identified. The arrangement comprises a plurality of electrically conductive lead wires, each having a fixed end and a free end, the fixed end being electrically coupled to the patient monitoring or treatment device. A mating connector is coupled to the free end of each of the plurality of electrically conductive lead wires. Each mating connector is electrically mateable with an electrode and also mateable with another mating connector to attach the free ends of at least two of the plurality of electrically conductive lead wires together. In one embodiment, a mounting member is provided that includes means for releasably connecting the mating connectors to store the mating connectors during periods of non-use.

Preferably, a first print head prints on one portion while a second print head prints on the other portion. The medium is preferably folded so that after the printing is completed and the folded medium is unfolded, the printed information on one portion of the medium correlates with the printed information on the other portion of the medium. The printed information is preferably data that has been measured with respect to time, and the printed data on the oppositely facing portions correlate with respect to time.
