Abstract:
One embodiment of a sheet transport apparatus is provided with a sheet transport path for transporting a sheet in a predetermined transport direction, a reflective type optical sensor in which light irradiated from a light-emitting portion to a transported sheet is reflected and reflected light from the sheet is received by a light-receiving portion to detect a presence/absence of the sheet, an irradiated light adjustment portion that adjusts a light amount of the light-emitting portion, a non-image region locating portion that detects an image state on a sheet to locate a non-image region of the sheet, and a control portion that adjusts the light amount of the light-emitting portion by controlling the irradiated light adjustment portion based on a measured value on the non-image region located by the non-image region locating portion.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a joining-portion processing section for combining partial images that have been read in a divided manner. Focused on partial document data predeterminately specified among a plurality of partial document data stored in an image memory, the joint-portion processing section performs a recognizing operation on the joints, a positioning operation and other operations beginning with the proximity of the specified partial document data. The partial images are then combined together to form one complete image. For example, in the case of copying an original document, which is of a size too large to be copied in one operation, on one sheet of paper in a reduced manner, it becomes possible to eliminate time consuming tasks such as trimming and pasting of the partial documents as well as calculating of the reduction rate. Thus, the efficiency of the operation is improved, and by specifying the partial document data from which the operation is started, it is possible to join the partial images accurately irrespective of the order of inputting the partial documents.

Abstract:
When a quantity of light of a liquid crystal back light falls below a predetermined value, a detecting section of an input device outputs to a first control section a failure-detected signal indicating that a failure occurred in the liquid crystal back light of an operation panel. When a touched area is inputted from a touch panel after the failure-detected signal was inputted, the first control section, referring to a failure time table, transmits setting information corresponding to a display area that includes the touched area to a second control section of an image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
A network system for copiers includes a plurality of copiers each provided with a communication device for communicating with external equipment and a power-on device for powering on the copier in a hold state in response to an external signal received by the communication device and a main controller including an operation controller for controlling operation of the copiers and a time setter for setting time to power on a copier, the main controller being connected to the copiers by a network. The operation controller executes control such that only predetermined one of the copiers is powered on at the power-on time set by the time setter.

Abstract:
A pair of registration rollers are provided upstream in a paper transport path from an image forming position, and a paper transport position detection portion is provided upstream in the paper transport path from the pair of registration rollers. When consecutive print processing on a plurality of sheets of paper is performed, a paper transport position in the paper transport path is detected by the paper transport position detection portion for a sheet of paper that has been set in advance among the plurality of sheets of paper. A correction amount of a position for image writing to a photosensitive drum is determined based on the paper transport position, and correction of the image writing position is performed based on the correction amount. Image forming on the sheet of paper is performed at the image forming position based on the image writing position after correction, and image forming on other sheets of paper after the sheet of paper that was set in advance is performed at the image forming position based on the image writing position after correction.
Abstract:
An image processing portion for conducting the specified processing of an image to be reproduced by an image forming portion based on the processed image data is constructed as a single control portion. Consequently, the development of a variety of digital copying machines requires preparation of specially designated control boards according to levels of the products. This makes machines expensive and requires users to pay a considerable initial cost. An image processing device of the present invention is provided with an image information inputting means for inputting image information as a first level image, a main image-processing board for conducting the specified processing of the input image information of the first revel image, a sub image-processing board for conducting the specified processing of the image information processed by the main image processing board and outputting the information as a second level image, and a means for reproducing an image according to the image information processed by the main image-processing board or the sub image-processing board. These boards are independent from each other in the circuit configuration.
