Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for predicting collision risk associated with a roadway intersection. The methods may comprise operating at least one processor to: receive map data and telematics data originating from telematics devices installed in a plurality of vehicles; identify, using the map data, one or more roadway intersections; determine, using the telematics data and/or map data, for each of the one or more roadway intersections, one or more roadway intersection metrics thereof; determine a hazard rating for each roadway of each roadway intersection; and generate a collision probability for each roadway intersection by inputting into a machine learning model the one or more roadway intersection metrics and the hazard rating of each roadway thereof, the collision probability representing a risk of collision for a vehicle traversing the intersection.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for estimating remaining useful life of vehicle engine oil. Such methods may comprise operating at least one processor to: receive telematics data originating from a plurality of vehicles, the telematics data comprising odometer data and engine oil quality data associated with each of the plurality of vehicles; determine, for one or more of the plurality of vehicles, a start point of a current oil cycle based on when an oil cycle event previously occurred by identifying within the engine oil quality data: a first series of engine oil quality datapoints, and a second series of engine oil quality datapoints immediately following the first series, a difference between a final datapoint of the first series and an initial datapoint of the second series being greater than a predetermined threshold; synchronize the odometer data and the engine oil quality data by associating odometer datapoints and engine oil quality datapoints reported within a same time period; determine a remaining useful vehicle engine oil distance by applying to synchronized odometer and engine oil quality data reported during the current oil cycle a regression model; and determine a remaining useful vehicle engine oil time by converting the remaining useful vehicle engine oil distance thereto based on an average difference in odometer datapoints reported during a selected time period, whereby the remaining useful life of vehicle engine oil is estimated based on vehicle operational factors associated with the current oil cycle, and independently from those of a previous oil cycle.

Abstract: Methods and systems for simplifying data collected from assets are provided. An example method involves receiving a simplified set of data at a server. The simplified set of data is generated by application of a dataset simplification algorithm on raw data obtained from a data source at an asset upon a determination that a recently obtained point in the raw data differed from a corresponding predicted point predicted by extrapolation based on previously saved points included in one or more previously generated simplified sets of data by an amount of extrapolation error that is limited by an upper bound that is fixed as the raw data is collected over time. The method further involves receiving a request for a status of the asset and extrapolating a status of the asset based on the simplified set of data in response to the request.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing telematics data streams for event detection are provided. The methods involve operating at least one processor to: receive a telematics data stream; define a plurality of sliding windows for the telematics data stream, each sliding window containing a portion of the telematics data stream, each sliding window overlapping with one or more neighboring sliding windows, each sliding window including: a logical window; a first buffer preceding the logical window; and a second buffer following the logical window; the logical window being adjacent with one or more neighboring logical windows of the one or more neighboring sliding windows without overlapping the one or more neighboring logical windows; identify a vehicle event based on the portion of the telematics data stream contained within one of the sliding windows; and store an indication of the vehicle event.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and removing erroneous tire pressure values are provided. The method involves operating at least one processor to: receive tire pressure data comprising a time series of tire pressure values; simplify the tire pressure data by removing at least some of the tire pressure values that satisfy a predetermined interpolation error threshold; detect, using a trained machine learning classifier, at least one erroneous tire pressure value in the tire pressure data, each erroneous tire pressure value being detected based on the erroneous tire pressure value and a plurality of lagging tire pressure values consecutively trailing the erroneous tire pressure value; clean the tire pressure data by removing the at least one erroneous tire pressure value; and transmit the tire pressure data to a fleet management system, whereby the at least one erroneous tire pressure value is not transmitted to the fleet management system.

Abstract: The present systems, devices, and methods relate to managing shared vehicle access. Vehicle access can be provided to a candidate user based on whether the user is included in a list of at least one user associated with a respective virtual key. Virtual keys can be created, or lists of at least one user can be updated to include the candidate user, to in turn provide vehicle access. Virtual keys can be stored in a plurality of virtual key slots, with vehicle access being provided based on a virtual key stored in an active key slot. Status reports can be sent to a reservation management device, for updating virtual keys or lists of at least one user.
