    摘要： Elevator call devices (41, 41a, 66, 75) have a programmable touch screen (42, 66, 74) which can be programmed to display (a) ten-key destination call buttons (46), (b) up hall call and down hall call buttons (58), or (c) N-key destination buttons (65), as well as buttons (50-53, 60, 63) which identify utilization of major floors of the building, including functions such as cafeteria, sky lobby, parking, public transport, and lobby, as well as tenants. A controller (78) programs the touch screen in dependence on (d) traffic volume, (e) time of day, (f) floor of the building where the touch screen is disposed or (g) identity of a particular passenger (VIP) in the vicinity of a touch screen.

    摘要： A chuck for use with a manual or powered driver having a housing and a rotatable drive shaft, the chuck including a generally cylindrical body with a nose section and a tail section. The tail section has an internal cavity formed therein and the nose section has an axial bore formed therein. A nut is disposed within the internal cavity, the nut including a central bore. A spindle includes a forward portion extending into the central bore of the nut and a rear portion configured to receive the drive shaft. A plurality of jaws are movably disposed with respect to the body, each of the jaws are in communication with the axial bore and are operatively coupled to the nut, and a sleeve is disposed about the body. The nut is axially movable with respect to the spindle between a first position and a second position. The nut is rotatably fixed to the spindle in the first position and non-rotatably fixed to the spindle in the second position.

    摘要： A rotating passenger conveying system includes a central rotating column which drives a number of cabs to rotate about an axis. The cabs are also movable along the axis between a first and second floor. The central column rotates continuously, and the cabs are cyclically moved between the two floors. Passengers can enter a cab at one of the floors, and cab will then rotate to a movement zone. In the movement zone the cab will move to the other floor. The movement and flow of passengers in this system is continuous, and thus, the throughput of passengers in the rotating passenger conveying system is closer to an escalator system than to an elevator.

The system provides a color indication (28A-28E) associated with an elevator car (26A-26E) that will travel to a passenger's intended destination floor. In one example, the portable device (30) provides a color indication that corresponds to the color indication (28A-28E) associated with the car. Providing the color indication (34) on the portable device (30) assists a passenger (32) in locating the correct car and provides piece of mind to the passenger that they are entering the correct car and will be carried to their intended destination floor.
