摘要: It is an object of this disclosure to facilitate a series of puncture-related operations in a puncture instrument. In a main case of a puncture instrument, a main rod is provided. An injector rod is mounted to a main rod and includes a lancet holder on one end side. An actuating rod is mounted to the injector rod and has an engagement component on the other end side. A first biasing member biases the injector rod toward the first end side. A manipulation component is provided so as to be slidable in and out through an opening on the other end side of the main case. A locking member is axially supported rotatably by a portion of the main rod between the manipulation component and the injector rod. The locking member includes a first engaged part, a second engaged part and a second biasing member.

摘要: A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

摘要: A blood lancing device and, more particularly, to an ergonomic blood lancet holding device and methods of use thereof that allow for single-handed operation, particularly by individuals with limited or no operational function in one arm or hand and by individuals with body tremors. Additional embodiments provide a universal lancet securing means for detachable holding of various proprietary lancet shapes, designs and formats that are presently or may become commercially available. Outer contours of embodiments are ergonomically shaped to readily accommodate the palmar surface of the hand and digits, thereby providing the user with easy-to-grasp functionality, without excess stretching or discomfort of the hand, digits, wrist or forearm. Embodiments may be symmetrical in design for universal use by either the right or left hand or specifically designed for use only by the right hand or the left hand.

摘要: The invention concerns lancets with a lancet needle, the tip of the lancet needle being embedded in an elastic material. Furthermore the invention concerns lancets where the tip of the lancet needle is surrounded by a hollow body which partially consists of an elastic material that can be pierced by the tip of the lancet needle during the lancing process and which reseals the tip of the lancet needle in the hollow body when it is retracted. In addition the invention concerns a lancet magazine in which the lancets are accommodated in individual chambers, each chamber having an opening through which the tip of the lancet needle can pass, which is sealed by an elastic material. Finally the invention concerns the use of an elastic material as a component of a lancet or a lancet magazine to maintain the sterility of at least the tip of a lancet needle in the unused state and to hygienically protect at least the tip of a lancet needle in the used state.

摘要: A smartphone protective cover that houses a glucose monitor, test strips, lancets, a lancet striker, a power source, and a biohazard debris receptacle is presented. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the protective covering is configured to include a smartphone adapted glucose monitor and also to accept a smartphone. In the preferred embodiment, the smartphone is removably placed into the protective covering with the glucose monitor connecting to a data receptacle on the smartphone. The protective further includes a lancet storage compartment adjacent to a lancet striker having a tension control member and striker release button, a test strip storage compartment, and a biohazard debris receptacle. The lancet storage compartment and test strip storage compartment can be re-fillable or disposable. A battery is also located in the cover and is electrically connected to the glucose for monitor, thus enabling the monitor to be powered independently of the phone. A method of use is also provided.

摘要: The biological test kit is a device for drawing and, optionally, testing biological samples. The biological test kit is an array of lancets set in wells in a rigid base. Each lancet well is covered by a protective cover which when deformed permits the lancet to puncture a user or other patient. In one embodiment the biological test kit employs distinct covers for each lancet and in another the covers are formed from sheet material formed into blisters which cover the lancet.
