Abstract:
An exhaust gas released from the exhaust gas heat exchanger 9 is conveyed into the inlet of a bend 32 communicated to a silencer 31. The exhaust gas mixed with the condensed water is upwardly passed as a mixture fluid through a passage 322 and forced into a first expansion chamber 323. The mixture fluid is separated into the exhaust gas and the condensed water in the chamber 323 and conveyed downwardly in a passage 324 provided with a second expansion chamber 325. While the exhaust gas is forced upwardly from the lower end of the silencer 31, the condensed water is discharged downwardly. The condensed water is conveyed in the drain passage of a waster water trap and released to the outside.
Abstract:
Stable crystals of an acid addition salt of an optically active thienotriazolodiazepine compound or its hydrate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, R.sup.2 is 2-phenylethyl substituted by alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, 2-morpholinocarbonylethyl or alkyl having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may combinedly form a saturated 5-membered ring having one substituent selected from the group consisting of morpholinomethyl, morpholinocarbonyl and N,N-dipropylcarbamoyl, R.sup.3 is halogen, alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or alkoxy having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 is trifluoromethyl or alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sup.5 is hydrogen or methyl, m is 1-2, and n is 0-2. The present invention provides optically active thienotriazolodiazepine compounds having strong PAF-antagonistic activity as markedly stable crystals which are excellent in crystalline property, permit purification by recrystallization, and have high chemical purity and optical purity, thereby rendering industrial large-scale synthesis attainable. In addition, crystallization thereof facilitates medicinal standardization and pharmaceutical formulation.
Abstract:
An outboard motor is equipped with a centrifugal clutch located between the crankshaft of an engine and a rotor of an electric motor for, when the engine operates, transmitting its output to through the rotor to a propeller, and with a motor output transmission mechanism for, when the engine does not operate, transmitting the output of the motor to the crankshaft. The engine can therefore be started by the motor used to drive the propeller. As a result, there is no need to install a separate electric motor for engine starting, so that starting of the engine by electric power can be made possible with minimum increase in the size and cost of the outboard motor.

Abstract:
An engine cooling unit and an exhaust gas heat exchanger 9 for use with the exhaust gas from an engine are connected with a circulation path 12 for circulating a heat transfer medium. The output of the circulation path 12 is connected via a conduit 18 to an output heat exchanger installed in e.g. a hot water storage tank 17. The exhaust gas heat exchanger 9 is disposed across the circulation path 12 at the upstream side of the engine cooling unit of the engine 2. The heat transfer medium introduced into the exhaust gas heat exchanger 9 is set to a lower temperature enough to maintain the temperature of vapor in the exhaust gas of which heat is transferred to the heat transfer medium lower than the dew point. The heat transfer medium after drawing generic heat from the exhaust gas and receiving its condensation heat in the exhaust gas heat exchanger 9 is passed to the engine cooling unit 6A where it draws more heat. Accordingly, the heat generated by the engine 2 can be recovered at a higher efficiency.
Abstract:
N-(4-(4-chlorophenyl)-2,3,9-trimethyl-6H-thieno 3,2-f!1,2,4!triazolo4,3-a!1,4!diazepin-6-yl )-N'- (2-methoxyphenyl)urea, optical isomers thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds of the present invention strongly and selectively inhibit the expression of VCAM-1 and have an inhibitory effect on leukocyte adhesion to vascular endothelial cells. Accordingly, the compounds of the present invention can be used as cell adhesion inhibitors for prophylaxis or treatment of various diseases in which cell adhesion is involved in the onset and progress thereof.
