摘要: In an e-mail processing system with a predetermined limit on the number of destination addresses of a piece of e-mail to be sent, the present invention determines whether the number of destination addresses of a piece of e-mail being viewed to be returned to everyone exceeds the predetermined limit when directed to be returned to everyone for the e-mail being viewed, and generates a piece of return mail creation screen with predetermined addresses in the e-mail being viewed being set as destinations of the piece of return mail when the predetermined limit is determined to be exceeded and generates a piece of return mail creation screen with everyone's address for the piece of e-mail being viewed being set as a destination of the piece of return mail when the predetermined limit is determined not to be exceeded. This configuration improves viewability and operability, for example, when a user directs to create a “Return to Everyone” mail. This configuration can increase the number of users to be provided with the service.

摘要: An assigning system and an assigning method are provided for assigning a storage device or a unitary logical unit of the storage device. A VLU-LU correspondence table is provided which shows a correspondence between virtual logical units (VLU) virtually set in a host computer and logical units (LU) of a plurality of storage devices connected to a network. This table stores evaluation items of each storage device such as a delay time and an access frequency. An evaluation unit calculates an evaluation value of each evaluation item in the table, and a unitary logical unit of the storage is assigned in accordance with the evaluation value.

摘要: A liquid crystal orienting method orients a liquid crystal of a liquid crystal display medium (1) having a base (2), a conductive layer (3) formed on the base (2), and a polymer dispersed liquid crystal film (PDLC film) (4) formed of a material prepared by dispersing the liquid crystal in a polymer. A charger (71) is disposed opposite to the surface of the liquid crystal display medium (1) on the side of the PDLC film (4) so as not to come into contact with the liquid crystal display medium (1), and a grounded electrode (72) is disposed near the charger (71) so as to come into contact with the liquid crystal display medium (1). A potential difference is created through the conductive layer (3) between a portion of the liquid crystal display medium (1) charged by the charger (71) and a portion of the same in contact with the electrode (72) by electrostatic induction. Consequently, a vertical electric field is applied to the PDLC film (4) to orient the liquid crystal of the PDLC film (4). The surface of the liquid crystal display medium (1) is covered with a nonconductive layer (5).

摘要: An impact-type printing device includes a printer for printing characters with a plurality of impression pressures including a high impression pressure sufficient for printing on all of the sheets of a set of copy sheets. The device also include a keyboard having a key for selecting one of the plurality of impression pressures when the device operates in a normal operation mode. The device further includes a switch for switching the device between the normal operation mode and a copy mode of operation. In the normal mode the printer is capable of printing in any of the plurality of impression pressures selected by the operator at the keyboard. In the copy mode the printer prints only with a high pressure, sufficient for printing on all of the sheets of the set of copy sheets. The device also erases a previously printed character when in the normal mode and overstrikes the previously printed character in the copy mode.

摘要: A mixer (10) for mixing a combustible gas and a combustion supporting gas comprises a tubular mixing section (1) which extends between one end (1a) having a combustible gas supply port (2) and the other end (1b) having a mixed gas discharge port (3); and a combustion supporting gas supply tube (4) which is inserted into the tubular mixing section (1) between the one end (1a) and the other end (1b) of the tubular mixing section (1), is closed at its tip (4a), and has at least one combustion supporting gas supply port at its juxta-tip lateral part (4b). A central axis of the combustion supporting gas supply tube (4) at the juxta-tip lateral part (4b) is generally parallel to a longitudinal direction of the tubular mixing section (1).
