    Abstract: A suction cover assembly for a reciprocating pump assembly includes a suction cover having a body that is configured to be held at least partially within an access port of a fluid cylinder of the reciprocating pump assembly. The body includes a receptacle that includes at least one radial opening that extends through the body. The suction cover assembly includes a suction cover retainer that includes a plug configured to be at least partially received within the receptacle of the body. The suction cover retainer includes at least one retention segment configured to be held within the at least one radial opening of the body. The plug is configured to be moved between a locked position wherein the at least one retention segment is in a radially extended position and an unlocked position wherein the at least one retention segment is in a radially retracted position.

    Abstract: The valve member includes a valve body and a seal. The valve body defines a first frusto-conical surface and an outside annular cavity. The seal extends within the outside annular cavity and includes a first tapered and circumferentially-extending surface adapted to sealingly engage the tapered surface of the valve seat. In another aspect, the seal includes an annular bulbous protrusion from which the first tapered and circumferentially-extending surface angularly extends, the first tapered and circumferentially-extending surface extending between the annular bulbous protrusion and the first frusto-conical surface of the valve body. In another aspect, an offset distance is defined between the first frusto-conical surface of the valve body and at least a portion of the first tapered and circumferentially-extending surface of the seal, the offset distance extending in a direction that is perpendicular to at least the first frusto-conical surface of the valve body.

    Abstract: A mobile fracking pump trailer 100 includes a gas turbine engine 102 and fracking pump 104, and torque converter 114 that fluidly couples the gas turbine engine 102 to the fracking pump 104. The mobile fracking pump trailer 100 further includes a first reduction gearing 118 connected between the gas turbine engine 102 and the torque converter 114 and a first power takeoff 120 connected to first reduction gearing 118. An electrical machine 128 is connected to the first power takeoff 120 for selectively starting the gas turbine engine 102 and generating electrical power to power the mobile fracking pump trailer 100 after the gas turbine engine 102 has been started.

    Abstract: A valve assembly adapted for use in oil and gas operations. In one aspect, the valve assembly includes a valve body defining an internal region, an inlet passageway, and an outlet passageway, the inlet and outlet passageways extending into the internal region; a valve seat connected to the valve body and defining a fluid passageway; a clapper extending within the internal region and defining an annular groove; and a seal extending within the annular groove of the clapper and adapted to sealingly engage the valve seat. In an example embodiment, the clapper is actuable between an open configuration, in which fluid flow is permitted through the fluid passageway; and a closed configuration, in which the seal sealingly engages the valve seat to at least partially restrict fluid flow through the fluid passageway.

    Abstract: A plug valve including a valve body defining an internal cavity, a first passage, and a second passage, a plug defining a third passage and being rotatable within the internal cavity, and an insert extending within the internal cavity between the valve body and the plug. The insert defines an interior surface and an opening aligned with the first passage of the valve body. The insert may also define a sealing surface extending around the opening and standing in relief against the interior surface to sealingly engage the plug. In addition to, or instead of, the sealing surface, the insert may define a projection at least partially defining the interior surface. In addition, a boot may be connected to the valve body and interlocked with the projection to prevent, or at least reduce, rotation of the insert relative to the valve body when the plug rotates within the internal cavity.

    Abstract: According to one aspect, a hammer union includes a female sub; a male sub; and a wing nut that is concentrically disposed about the female and male subs. The wing nut includes a body having first and second end surfaces, and an exterior surface extending therebetween; a passage extending through the body from the first to second end surface that defines an interior surface of the body; an internal shoulder formed by the interior surface; an internal threaded connection that extends from the first end surface and towards the internal shoulder; and lugs extending radially from the exterior surface.     Abstract: A method and apparatus for a reciprocating pump assembly, including a crosshead and a connecting rod. The crosshead includes a main body having a cylindrical bore formed therethrough and defining a bearing surface, and a window formed through the main body and into the cylindrical bore. The connecting rod includes a small end disposed within the cylindrical bore and a beam portion extending through the window and being connected to the small end. In an exemplary embodiment, a bearing including a tubular body and a cutout is disposed within the cylindrical bore. In another exemplary embodiment, a clamp engages both the main body of the crosshead and the respective opposing end portions of the small end, thus reducing axial displacement of the small end relative to the crosshead.

    Abstract: A valve stop is provided for a valve assembly of a pump. The valve stop includes a tripod having a hub and three legs extending radially outward from the hub to end portions of the legs. The tripod is configured to be operatively connected to a valve body of the valve assembly to limit travel of the valve body. The end portions of the legs are configured to engage a wall of a fluid passage of the pump. A locator extends outward from the tripod to a handle of the locator. The handle of the locator is configured to engage an internal portion of the pump.
