Abstract:
An apparatus, method, and computer program product for facilitating the identification and manipulation of recorded voice strings is provided. The apparatus includes a processor for receiving a voice string that has been recorded. The processor automatically assigns the recorded voice string a name that is indicative of the content of the voice string or of a characteristic of the voice string but which may include other information regarding the voice string. Thus, the voice string may be assigned a name that provides the user with an idea of the content or circumstance of the voice string when it was recorded without requiring the user to input a name for the recorded voice string. In this way, the user may be able to access the recorded voice string more easily. The apparatus may also include a microphone, memory element, and/or a display for presenting a list of recorded voice strings.
Abstract:
A device having a display, an illuminator configured to illuminate the display and a multi-way input key configured to control the illuminator upon activation. The illuminator also has a power output, the output level being arranged to be regulated upon activation of the multi-way input key proportional to a physical movement activating the multi-way input key.
Abstract:
A telecommunication system comprising a mobile telecommunication network and a mobile communication apparatus arranged to communicate with said mobile telecommunication network is disclosed. The mobile communication apparatus comprises a controller, and is associated with a first and a second display, wherein said controller is arranged to control said first display to view a first set of information and said second display to view a second set of information. A method for providing messages in the telecommunication system is also disclosed. The method comprises sending a message from said mobile telecommunication network to said mobile communication apparatus; receiving said message by said mobile communication apparatus; determining if one of said first and second displays is currently actively used; assigning said message information to the one of said first or second display not currently actively used to avoid interruption of an active session; and viewing said message information on said assigned display. A method for controlling the mobile communication apparatus, comprising viewing on said first display a first set of information, and viewing on said second display a second set of information, is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal having a user interface formed by a controller, a display and a multi-way input device for navigating and selecting among information shown on the display is presented. The controller is adapted, in a current context among a plurality of possible contexts, to make different logical actions available for selection by a user through respective associated physical actions on the multi-way input device, and to present, for a logical action available in the current context, information on the display that serves to indicate the physical action associated with and selectable by the logical action as well as to explain the logical action.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a mobile communications device and a method for controlling a menu on a mobile communications device having a display with an idle mode background image. The method comprises receiving a user input from a control device, relating the user input to an area of said display, determining an application which is linked to said area such that said application is executed in response to the selection of said area, and superposing an application icon associated with said application over at least a part of said idle mode background image.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for routing audio for audio-video recordings allow a user to record desired audio with captured video at the time the video is being captured. Audio from one or more sources may be routed to the video capture application and recorded with the video. In one or more examples, audio may be routed from another application, e.g., an audio playback application, running on the same device as the video capture application. In another example, audio may be received from a remote device through a wireless connection. Multiple streams of audio content may be mixed together prior to storing with video. The audio, upon reception, may then be routed to the video capture application for recordation. An audio progression bar may also be provided to indicate duration and elapsed time information associated with the audio being recorded.
Abstract:
An apparatus including a housing having an exterior including a first display face and a second display face arranged such that it is contiguous to the first display face; and a processor configured to define a graphical user interface distributed simultaneously over both the first display face and the second display face.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, computer program and user interface wherein the method includes providing a plurality of selectable control elements where the plurality of selectable control elements are sorted into categories according to a first sorting criterion and sorted into positions within the categories according to a second sorting criterion; controlling a display to present a first one of the plurality of selectable control elements wherein the first one of the selectable control elements is positioned in a determined category at a determined position within the determined category; enabling a user to control the display to present a second one of the plurality of selectable control elements by enabling a first type of directional user input to select a different category and enabling a second type of directional user input to select a position within the selected category without changing the selected category.
Abstract:
There is provided an electronic device comprising: a body, a slidable element connected to the body, a display connected to the body for displaying application views, and a processing unit for controlling functions of the electronic device, wherein the slidable element is slidable between a closed position and an open position relative to the body. The processing unit is configured to detect an occurrence of one or more intermediate positions of the slidable element relative to the body, the intermediate positions being associated with one or more application views and residing between the closed position and the open position; and to control which predetermined application view is displayed on the display on the basis of the detected occurrence of one or more intermediate positions of the slidable element.
Abstract:
A mobile device, method and computer program product are provided for displaying a predefined subset of images captured on a display screen of a mobile device, thus eliminating the need to access a gallery, or image storage, application installed on the mobile device and, in some instances, open the mobile device, in order to view recently captured images. In particular, a user is able to define the subset of the images to be displayed as, for example, all images taken within the last day, week, month or even year, or all images taken at a certain location or at the location corresponding with the most recently captured image. Depending upon how the user has defined the subset, the mobile device will automatically update the subset of images displayed based upon the occurrence of various events (e.g., where the oldest picture of the subset was taken more than one day ago).
