    摘要: A repeater system is disclosed including a dual-fed donor patch antenna with a first microstrip antenna probe and a second microstrip antenna probe, phase shifting circuitry connected to the first microstrip antenna probe and the second microstrip antenna probe, wherein the phase shifting circuitry is configured to receive an input signal, supply a first signal to the first microstrip antenna probe, and supply a second signal to the second microstrip antenna probe using the input signal such that the first signal and the second signal are approximately 180 degrees out of phase with respect to each other. The repeater system also includes a coverage antenna (either a patch antenna or dipole antenna) and a housing connecting the dual-fed donor patch antenna and the coverage antenna. The housing is disposed to serve as a ground plane for the donor patch antenna and the coverage antenna.

When the message collection is displayed, it is displayed in accordance with the updated session placeholder.

    摘要: A wireless repeater has a receiving antenna for receiving an input signal and a transmitting antenna for transmitting an amplified signal where the input signal is a sum of a remote signal and a feedback signal. The repeater includes an echo canceller receiving the input signal and generating an echo cancelled signal by estimating a feedback channel between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna and cancelling a feedback signal estimate from the input signal, an amplifier for amplifying the echo cancelled signal and providing the amplified signal to the transmitting antenna, and a variable delay element receiving the echo cancelled signal and introducing a first delay to the echo cancelled signal. The first delay is selected to optimize the estimation of the feedback channel, thereby optimizing the cancellation of the feedback signal. The delayed echo cancelled signal is coupled to the echo canceller as a reference signal for estimating the feedback channel.

A repeater with improved echo cancellation comprises an input radio control element having a receiving antenna and an output radio control element having a transmitting antenna; a power amplifier connected between the input radio control element and the output radio control element; and a signal processing unit connected between the input radio control element and the output radio control element. The signal processing unit is configured to estimate the communication channel from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna to produce a channel estimation. The signal processing unit is further configured to perform echo cancellation based on the channel estimation.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are presented for implementing an improved Control-Hold Mode that reduces the load of the reverse link and reduces the battery consumption of remote stations. While a remote station is in the improved Control-Hold Mode, the circuitry that monitors the forward packet data channels and the associated control channels are turned off. Since the forward packet data channels and their associated control channels are not monitored, the operations of the reverse channels can be gated off to predetermined duty cycles, or set on intermittent transmission modes, or shut down completely. Transitions from the Control-Hold Mode to the Active Mode can be initiated by the remote station or by a base station. When a transition is initiated by a remote station, the remote station transmits a signaling message to a serving base station and then starts operating the feedback channels before actually receiving forward link signals.
