A valve opening and closing mechanism includes: an input shaft 2 driven by a power source; two or more output shafts 5, 6 respectively including valves 3, 4; power transmission members that transmit power from the input shaft 2 to the respective output shafts 5, 6 with varying a phase of the power; and preload application members that apply preloads respectively to the output shafts 5, 6 and the power transmission member in opposite directions. The output shafts 5, 6 may be separated from the power transmission member.

A metallic member 22 is integrated with a molded rotor 12, and a bearing 16 is held to the rotor 12 through this metallic member 22. At that time, a washer 24 is secured to the metallic member, and the rotating portion of the bearing is held by this washer, thereby improving holding property and durability of the bearing. A stopper plate 21 for limiting the displacement of the output shaft of a motor is used as the metallic member, thereby enabling holding property and durability of the bearing to increase without increasing the number of components. The base-end side of the metallic member 22 is integrally in-mold molded with the rotor 12, which enables the metallic member 22 to be firmly held.

The exhaust gas recirculation cooler is put adjacently between the exhaust gas recirculation valve and the bypass valve.

An exhaust gas re-circulation valve which allows the accurate control of high temperature and pressure exhaust gas flowing through the engine exhaust gas re-circulation passage of a turbo diesel vehicle or the like. Valve seats 28, 29, valves 31, 32 and a valve shaft are mounted on a valve housing 21 and an adjustable adjusting mechanism 36,51,28b,71 is provided which allows both the first valve 31 and the first valve seat 28 and the second valve 32 and the second valve seat 29 to close in abutment by displacement or deformation. In this way even if there is an irregularity in the process or assembly accuracy of the components of the exhaust gas re-circulation valve, it can be absorbed by the adjustable mechanism 36, 51, 28b, 71. As a result the formation of gaps between the valve and the valve seat as a result of irregularities in the in the process or assembly accuracy of the components of the exhaust gas re-circulation valve can be prevented and valve accuracy can be improved.
