    Abstract: In an embodiment, a method of emulating light sensitivity of a target includes, for each of at least some frames of a video recording, receiving an image. The method also includes accessing image metadata associated with the image. The method also includes discovering, from the image metadata, information related to an exposure setting and a gain value used by a camera in capture of the image. The method also includes deriving, from stored camera metadata for the camera, information related to a luminous flux associated with the exposure setting and the gain value used by the camera in the capture of the image. The method also includes determining an adjusted gain value corresponding to a target light sensitivity using the derived information related to the luminous flux. The method also includes generating an adjusted image using the adjusted gain value.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, a method includes receiving a live media stream. The method also includes causing the live media stream to be progressively written to a recording device as an unprioritized background recording as the live media stream is received. The method also includes receiving an indication of an event start and, responsive to the indication of the event start, causing a change in recording such that the live media stream is progressively written to the recording device as a prioritized event recording. The method also includes receiving, via a user interface associated with the recording device, a user command to add pre-event-start media to the prioritized event recording. The method also includes, responsive to the user command, selecting a user-triggered segment of the unprioritized background recording for addition to the prioritized event recording. The method also includes adding the user-triggered segment to the prioritized event recording.

The method also includes, for each raw video frame, as the raw video frame is received: downscaling the raw video frame to a first resolution to yield a first scaled video frame; downscaling the raw video frame to a second resolution distinct from the first resolution to yield a second scaled video frame; identifying a location of a target; cropping at least video frame based, at least in part, on the location of the target; and storing the first scaled video frame, the second scaled video frame, and information related to the cropped at least one video frame as part of a first video stream, a second video stream, and a third video stream, respectively.

    Abstract: A method of extending battery life of a wireless microphone unit includes muting the wireless microphone unit responsive to a mute signal from a base station unit, transmitting, by the wireless microphone unit, compressed muted audio data, wherein the compressed muted audio data is compressed via a first compression scheme, determining, by the wireless microphone unit, whether an unmute signal has been received from the base station unit, and responsive to a determination that the unmute signal has been received, unmuting the wireless microphone unit. The method further includes discontinuing transmission of the compressed muted audio data and transmitting compressed audio data via a second compression scheme, wherein the first transmitting step causes the wireless microphone unit to consume less power per unit of transmission time than the second transmitting step.
