摘要： Provided is a superconducting cable device including: a first superconducting cable and a second superconducting cable; an intermediate connection box which connects the first and second superconducting cables to each other; and a cooling device which causes a coolant to flow inside the intermediate connection box in a lengthwise direction of the intermediate connection box, wherein a cable connection portion for connecting the first and second superconducting cables to each other is provided in the intermediate connection box. In an uncooled state, the cable connection portion is disposed to be eccentric from a center line in the lengthwise direction of the intermediate connection box in a direction in which the coolant flows.

When a display mode of a liquid crystal display (LCD) is changed such as in response to a user's request, information of the changed display mode is stored being associated with a system mode. When a system is rebooted or the system mode is changed in a state in which the display mode information is stored, display mode information stored being associated with a current system mode is read, and the LCD display mode is set to an arbitrary display mode corresponding to the read display mode information. And, when a change of the LCD display mode is requested by the user, a wallpaper image for the requested display mode can be retrieved from among wallpaper images for display modes stored separately and displayed on the LCD.

摘要： An apparatus and method for controlling fan operation in a system having a fan are provided. The apparatus includes a temperature sensor configured to detect at least one internal temperature of the system as a whole or component devices thereof, a power supply configured to convert one or more different input powers into predetermined voltage levels and supply the voltage levels to the fan, and a controller connected to the temperature sensor and the power supply and configured to control operation of the fan, wherein the controller controls fan operation based on a fan control mode selected by a user and the sensed at least one internal temperature. The method includes selecting a fan control mode from a plurality of fan control modes, detecting at least one internal temperature of the system as a whole or component devices thereof, controlling operation of the fan based on the selected fan control mode and the detected at least one internal temperature, including comparing the detected at least one internal temperature with a preset temperature, and if the detected temperature is lower than the preset temperature, decreasing a preset fan operation speed. Noise and power consumption can be minimized by controlling the fan operation depending on the specific states of the system.

The computer includes a control unit for notifying whether a power saving mode is a hybrid sleep mode when the portable computer enters the power saving mode; and an embedded controller for detecting whether the remaining amount of a battery decreases below a threshold value or a predetermined period of time has passed after the computer enters the power saving mode to perform hibernation or turn off system power, if the power saving mode notified from the control unit is the hybrid sleep mode.
