Abstract: A method of applying a dielectric lubricant to an electrical connector of a consumer electronic device. The method includes inserting a dielectric lubricant delivery device apertures for delivering the dielectric lubricant to the electrical connector into a receptacle of the electronic device; applying pressure to a chamber including the dielectric lubricant, the chamber being fluidly coupled to the apertures of the lubricant delivery device such that the pressure causes the lubricant to enter the receptacle via the apertures and deposit on contacts of the electrical connector; and pulling vacuum using the lubricant delivery device to remove excess dielectric lubricant from the receptacle and the electrical connector.

Abstract: Connector systems that carry electrical signals and optical signals in a single connector are provided. A male electro-optical connector can have an electrical insert portion that fits into a receptacle of a female electro-optical connector to provide a structural connection. The optical interface can be advantageously near a front of the connectors for easy maintenance. Optical connectors with a relatively large diameter for the optical interface are also provided. Optical connectors can include a collector for receiving optical signals at a large opening and providing signals to a photodiode at a small opening of the collector. Such optical connectors with a large diameter for an optical interface can advantageously provide reduced alignment tolerances. Adapters, cable adapters, docking stations, and other apparatus can also be provided.

Abstract: Enclosures for electronic devices are provided. These enclosures can be integrally formed with a full or partial receptacle connector shell for receiving electrical connectors such as audio connectors or plugs. For example, an enclosure made from a polymer can be integrally formed with an audio jack shell in an injection molding process. As another example, an enclosure can be integrally formed with one or more full or partial walls of an audio jack shell to form a single piece of polymer or metal and the remaining walls of the audio jack shell can be overmolded or assembled to the polymer or metal walls of the audio jack and proximate portions of the enclosure to form a full or complete audio jack shell.

Abstract: High-speed connectors that save space in an electronic device, are simple to connect, and are readily manufactured. One example can provide a high-speed connector having high-speed connections. The high-speed connections can be integrated with low-speed connections in a board-to-board structure to save space in an electronic device. An example can provide high-speed connections that are simple to connect. The board-to-board structure can include a board-to-board plug, where each high-speed connection includes a high-speed contact having a lateral portion. The lateral portion can include right-angle tabs to guide a central conductor of a coaxial cable. The central conductor of each coaxial cable can be soldered to a corresponding lateral portion. Ground contacts for the board-to-board plug can include crimping portions to connect to an outer shield of each coaxial cable. These high-speed connectors can be readily manufactured by utilizing stamped contacts and molded housings.

Abstract: A SIM card connector has an integrated SIM card tray ejection mechanism. The ejection mechanism is contained within the connector and includes a pushrod that is disposed in a slot adjacent a SIM card tray cavity. The pushrod is configured to apply a force against an ejector arm when the ejection mechanism is activated. In response, the ejector arm rotates about a pivot and applies an ejection force to the SIM card tray causing the tray to eject from the cavity.
