    Abstract: Provided is a side airbag for side collision which is deployed between two seats in a width direction of a vehicle to prevent occupants siting on the two seats from colliding with each other. The airbag includes a chest protective area to protect a chest of an occupant; a head protective area extending upward from the chest protective area to protect a head of the occupant; and a support area extending rearward from the head protective area and making contact with a head rest, which is provided on an upper portion of a back of the seat, so as to be supported by the head rest, wherein, the support area of the airbag is supported by the head rest when the vehicle collision occurs to prevent a head of an occupant who sits near a crashed side from moving rearward of the head protective area, thereby preventing the head of the occupant sitting near the crashed side from colliding with a head of a counterparty occupant who faces the occupant sitting near the crashed side in the width direction of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A curtain airbag of a vehicle is provided adjacent to the roof of the vehicle in a folded state, is configured to have a shape that unfolds downward between an inner side surface of the vehicle and an occupant when the vehicle crashes, and includes an outer panel that proceeds toward the side surface of the vehicle and an inner panel that proceeds toward the occupant upon expansion. The curtain airbag further includes a head support part configured to have a shape in which an expansion thickness, which is defined by the outer panel and the inner panel in a portion that the head of the occupant contacts due to the car crash, gradually increases toward the front of the vehicle, so as to prevent the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle. The curtain airbag may effectively stop the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle during a vehicle crash.

    Abstract: A far side airbag apparatus for a vehicle for installation at a side of a frame of a backrest of a seat directed toward an inner center portion of the vehicle such that the far side airbag is expanded and deployed between at least two backrests arranged widthwise along the vehicle. The far side airbag includes an inner part directed toward an occupant seated in a direction opposite to a collision side of the vehicle upon vehicle collision and an outer part directed toward the inner center portion of the vehicle upon vehicle collision. When a vehicle collision occurs, for example, when a side inclination collision of the vehicle occurs, the occupant seated in opposition to the collision side of the vehicle may be prevented from abruptly moving toward the front portion and the inner center portion of the vehicle out of the protection range of the far side airbag. Thus, collision between occupants seated on a driver seat and an occupant seat can be effectively prevented.

    Abstract: A side curtain airbag for a vehicle includes a serial main chamber that inflates and deploys along an interior side surface of the vehicle; a protruding chamber disposed at a front side of the main chamber to further protrude toward an interior of the vehicle relative to the main chamber; and a cutting line arranged between the main chamber and the protruding chamber to partially separate the protruding chamber from the main chamber such that the protruding chamber overlaps with a portion of the main chamber upon non-inflation of the airbag. In this configuration, upon a vehicle collision, the head portion of the occupant is prevented early from being ejected toward the front of the vehicle.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicular airbag device provided with a configuration comprising: an airbag cushion which is formed in a shawl shape so as to surround and restrict the entire upper body around both shoulders of an occupant as well as the abdominal and pelvic regions in the event of a vehicle collision, and deployed toward both side surfaces of the occupant; and a limiting means which is installed in first and second cushions of the airbag cushion deployed at both sides of the occupant, and provides a supporting force and limits the deployment shape of the first and second cushions at the time of deployment of the first and second cushions. According to the present invention, both side surfaces and the front surface of the occupant are efficiently restricted by improving the lateral strength of the airbag cushion to safely protect the occupant in the event of a vehicle collision.
