Abstract: Disclosed herein are platinum group metal capture materials comprising an alkaline earth metal oxide. Also disclosed herein are catalytic articles, exhaust gas treatment systems, and methods of treating an exhaust gas comprising the same. Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to gas treatment systems comprising a means for oxidizing carbon monoxide and oxidizing hydrocarbons, a means for capturing a volatilized platinum group metal, and a means for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a NOx adsorber diesel oxidation catalyst (NA-DOC) for the treatment of an exhaust gas, the catalyst comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending from the inlet end to the outlet end and a plurality of passages defined by internal walls of the substrate extending therethrough; a NOx adsorber (NA) coating disposed on the surface of the internal walls of the substrate, said coating comprising a platinum group metal, a zeolitic material and one or more of an alkaline earth metal and manganese; and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) coating, said coating comprising a platinum group metal supported on a non-zeolitic oxidic material.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides Low Temperature NOx-Absorber (LT-NA) catalyst compositions, catalyst articles, and an emission treatment system for treating an exhaust gas, each including the LT-NA catalyst compositions. Further provided are methods for reducing a NOx level in an exhaust gas stream using the LT-NA catalyst articles. In particular, the LT-NA catalyst compositions include a first zeolite, a first palladium component, and a plurality of platinum nanoparticles. The LT-NA catalyst compositions exhibit enhanced regeneration efficiency with respect to NOx adsorption capacity, even after hydrothermal aging.

In particular, the LT-NA composition includes a large pore zeolite containing a palladium component and a small or medium pore zeolite containing a palladium component. Further provided is a catalyst article including the LT-NA catalyst composition, an emission treatment system for treating an exhaust gas including the catalyst article, and methods for reducing a NOx level in an exhaust gas stream using the catalyst article.

Abstract: The present invention relates to diesel oxidation catalyst compositions and catalyst articles, wherein the compositions and articles include a plurality of platinum group nanoparticles substantially in fully reduced form, wherein the nanoparticles have an average particle size of about 1 to about 10 nm and at least about 90% of the nanoparticles have a particle size of +/− about 2 nm of the average particle size. Such compositions can further include a refractory metal oxide material, wherein the nanoparticles and refractory metal oxide material can be combined within the same coating on a substrate or can be applied sequentially on a substrate. The nanoparticles can advantageously be substantially free of halides, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, sulfur compounds, and boron compounds. Methods of preparing and using such compositions and catalyst articles (e.g., for the treatment of diesel exhaust gas streams) are also provided herein.
