Abstract: A lean burn engine exhaust treatment articles comprising a low temperature lean NOx trap (LT-LNT) composition and methods for their use is disclosed. A lean burn engine exhaust gas treatment system including the lean burn engine exhaust treatment articles is also disclosed. The low temperature lean NOx trap (LT-LNT) compositions can comprise a washcoat layer on a carrier substrate, the washcoat layer including a platinum group metal component impregnated on a first support material comprising at least 50% alumina. The washcoat layer may further include a low temperature NOx storage material comprising a bulk particulate reducible metal oxide. Methods of monitoring the aging state of a lean burn oxidation catalyst in a lean burn engine catalyst system are also disclosed.

Abstract: A lean NOx trap composition for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, such as the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO), and the trapping and reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is disclosed. The lean NOx trap composition can have a washcoat layer on a carrier substrate including a first support material comprising greater than 50% by weight of a reducible metal oxide; 10 to 30% by weight of alkaline earth metal supported on a second support material comprising a refractory metal oxide and 50% or less by weight of a reducible metal oxide and; and a platinum group metal component supported on at least one of the first support material and/or the second support material. A portion of the first support material may further include 0.5% to 10% by weight of an alkaline earth metal.

Abstract: A NOx adsorber diesel oxidation catalyst for the treatment of an exhaust gas, the catalyst comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending from the inlet end to the outlet end and a plurality of passages defined by internal walls of the substrate extending therethrough; a first NOx adsorber (NA) coating, said coating comprising palladium supported on a first non-zeolitic oxidic material comprising ceria; a second NOx adsorber (NA) coating, said coating comprising one or more of an alkaline earth metal supported on a support material and a platinum group metal component supported on a second non-zeolitic oxidic material; and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) coating, said coating comprising a platinum group metal component supported on a third non-zeolitic oxidic material.

Abstract: The present invention relates to catalyzed soot filter comprising a porous wall flow substrate, a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction (SCR), a palladium component, and a platinum component, the wall flow substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending between the inlet end and the outlet end, and a plurality of channels defined by internal walls of the wall flow substrate, wherein the plurality of channels comprise inlet channels having an open inlet end and a closed outlet end, and outlet channels having a closed inlet end and an open outlet end, and the SCR catalyst is provided on the entire surface of the inlet channel walls and on at least a portion of the surface of the pores within the channel walls underneath the surface of the channel walls coated with the SCR catalyst.
