Abstract: Provided is a fiber for rubber reinforcement that can be produced using a bio-derived raw material and hardly breaks even when compounded with a rubber material. A first fiber for rubber reinforcement uses a protein fiber containing a hydrophobic protein. A second fiber for rubber reinforcement uses a protein fiber having an initial tensile modulus of elasticity of 2.0 GPa or more when wet. These fibers for rubber reinforcement preferably have a coating layer made of a water-based adhesive composition on the surface thereof.

Abstract: Provided is an adhesive composition for organic fiber cords containing (A) synthetic rubber latex having unsaturated diene, (B) gelatin, and (C) an aqueous compound having a (thermal dissociative blocked) isocyanate group and containing no resorcin or formaldehyde, which has the following effects: (1) causing little damage to the environment by using no resorcin or formaldehyde, (2) in a process of coating an organic fiber cord with the adhesive composition for organic fiber cords and drying and heat curing, it is possible to suppress the adhesion of the adhesive composition for organic fiber cords to a roller or the like, thereby achieving good operability, and (3) achieving good adhesion between an organic fiber cord and a coated rubber composition.

Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a belt having an intersecting belt with a wide belt layer, a narrow belt layer, and a reinforcing layer between the wide belt layer and the narrow belt layer. A widthwise inner end of the reinforcing layer is on an inner side of the narrow belt layer, a widthwise outer end of the reinforcing layer is on an outer side of the narrow belt layer but on the inner side of the wide belt layer; core-sheath type composite fibers, whose core portion is composed of a high-melting-point resin having a melting point of 150° C. or higher and sheath portion composed of resin material containing an olefin-based polymer having a melting point not higher than tire vulcanization temperature, are embedded in the reinforcing layer; and an angle of the core-sheath type composite fibers is substantially the same as a reinforcing cord of the narrow belt layer.
