This contact is within a content item, such as a word processing document, a hypertext document, an e-mail, a spreadsheet, or an electronic presentation. The user receives an indication of one or more connection channels associated with the contact and the user makes a selection a designated connection channel from the one or more connection channels. Upon this selection a device (such as a portable communications device) is instructed to establish communications across the designated connection channel. This connection channel may be, for example, a telephone number, an SMS number, an e-mail address, or a uniform resource locator (URL).

A personal computer in communication with the mobile terminal, for example, via a Bluetooth connection, may monitor the web browsing activities of the user on the computer and create a report based on this information. Such a report may contain data regarding the web sites visited by the user, and feed links available for those sites. The report may be transmitted to the user's mobile terminal, allowing the mobile terminal to automatically subscribe to and unsubscribe from web feeds, such as, for example, RSS feeds.

Based on this selection, a communications request is transmitted to a server. 摘要： A wireless proximity network is extended to provide peer-to peer communication among ad hoc networks. A mobile device (peer) coupled to an access point serves an adhoc network via a short-range communication link. The peer executes a Bluetooth protocol stack. Each peer has a routing table about all the peers in the adhoc network. A peer to peer software layer (P2P) runs on top of the Bluetooth protocol stack and beneath a multi-user application layer. The P2P software handles application deployment, peer management and communications for applications and provides information about existing peers on the adhoc network; routes messages between peers within an ad hoc network and from one peer to another in different adhoc networks. The access point is connected to a wireless LAN via a wireless router. The access point has an IP-BT address conversion table and communicates with other access points via wireless routers using TCP/IP protocols.

摘要： Systems, methods, devices, and computer program products provide for a reflective media system, where the source of a media file may automatically receive information about how recipients of the media file are using the media file. For example, a user may communicate copies of the user's media files to a community of other people, such as friends, family, schoolmates, co-workers, and the like. As the people in the community annotate or edit their copies of the media files, these annotations or edits are communicated back to the user, i.e., the source of the media files. The user can then use these annotations or edits in order to annotate or edit the user's copy of the media files in a similar way. A system may also be provided for reflecting more general use information back to the source of a shared media file.
