    摘要: Handover is a main function that is used to support mobility in the network. In a cellular communication network having adaptive antennas for enabling narrow beam operation, it is assumed that a mobile unit is served by an active cell set (S1). A basic idea according to the present invention is to select, prior to establishment of a new serving radio link for a mobile unit, a narrow target beam within a neighbor area of the current active cell set of the mobile unit based on pre-established information of narrow beams within the neighbor area (S2), and to initiate establishment of the new serving radio link directly with the selected narrow target beam (S3). In this way, the narrow target beam can be selected at handover initiation and the new radio link can be established directly with a target narrow beam without first establishing the radio link with a cell-wide beam and then, after uplink measurements, reconfiguring the radio link onto a narrow beam.

    摘要: Handover is a main function that is used to support mobility in the network. In a cellular communication network having adaptive antennas for enabling narrow beam operation, it is assumed that a mobile unit is served by an active cell set (S1).     摘要: A basic idea of the invention is to provide multi-user resource scheduling and distribution based on balancing the power resources used for the different narrow beams in order to smooth the interference levels over the whole cell, area and to reduce interference fluctuations. The resource scheduling principle according to the invention is especially useful when the available resources are not fully utilized. The idea is to select, for each antenna beam of at least a subset of the antenna beams, at least two mobile users for service using the respective antenna beam during a transmission time interval, and to distribute power resources to the antenna beams for use during the transmission time interval based on the guideline of balancing the power resources among different antenna.

    摘要: Handover is a main function that is used to support mobility in the network. In a cellular communication network having adaptive antennas for enabling narrow beam operation, a network control unit sends a radio link setup request to a selected cell-serving network unit for configuration of a new serving radio link. Before responding to the radio link setup request the cell-serving network unit performs uplink measurements with respect to the mobile unit, and a narrow target beam is selected within a cell served by the cell-serving network unit based on these measurements. The cell-serving network unit then configures the new serving radio link for the considered mobile unit directly with the selected narrow target beam. Consequently the system can perform the handover procedure using narrow beams only, without first establishing the radio link with a cell-wide beam and then reconfiguring the radio link onto a narrow beam.

    摘要: A method and arrangement for enabling communication of data between a UE and a first base station in a cellular communication network further comprising the second base station, and the second base station is connected to the first base station via a communication interface. A scheduling request is received from the first base station. The scheduling request is based on a suggested scheduling which is determined by the first base station, and the suggested scheduling concerns the communication of data. Scheduling information is determined based on the scheduling request, and the scheduling information is transmitted to the UE. By determining a suggested scheduling in a micro base station, but transmitting scheduling information from an overlaying macro base station, local awareness of communication conditions may be applied, and interferences from neighboring micro base stations may be decreased.

The method comprising: obtaining signal strength values associated with the one or more antennas of the at least two access nodes for a number of user equipments; arranging the number of user equipments into one or more groups of user equipments and associating each of the one or more groups of user equipments with a sub-set of the one or more antennas of the at least two access nodes based on the obtained signal strength values; and coordinating data transmission performed by the at least two access nodes to each of the one or more groups of user equipments based on the subset of the one or more antennas of the at least two access nodes associated with each group of user equipments, respectively.

    摘要: A base station and method are described herein that improves the coverage in a fixed-beam wireless communication system by using antenna beam-jitter and Channel Quality Information (CQI) correction. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of: (a) modifying a beam by introducing a beam-jitter in a beam-forming pattern; (b) receiving an estimated channel quality information, CQI, from a user terminal; (c) accounting for effects of the beam jitter on the estimated CQI to obtain a jitter-adjusted CQI estimate; (d) and using the jitter-adjusted CQI estimate during user scheduling for a future transmission to the user terminal.
