    Abstract: An embodiment of an electronic timepiece includes a cylindrical exterior case, a bezel and a windshield member. In the exterior case, a circuit board is housed. The bezel is formed of a metal material to be ring-shaped, includes an inward flange part that projects from an inner side surface toward a center of the ring-shaped bezel, is arranged on an outer upper side of the exterior case and is electrically connected with the circuit board. The windshield member is formed of a transparent dielectric substance, arranged in the bezel and supported by the inward flange part. The bezel is configured to resonate with a radio wave having a desired frequency by adjustment of at least one of (i) a relative permittivity of the dielectric substance and (ii) an area of an overlap region where the inward flange part and the windshield member overlap each other.

    Abstract: An electronic timepiece, including: a counter; a display section; a first processor; a second processor; and a power supply section which supplies electric power to each section from a battery, wherein when an output voltage from the power supply section decreases to less than a predetermined first reference voltage, the first processor stops a display operation by the display section, when the time information is acquired by the processing operation of the second processor, the first processor corrects the time counted by the counter based on the acquired time information and causes the display section to display the corrected time, and when the output voltage decreases to less than the first reference voltage following an acquisition operation of the time information by the second processor, the first processor does not stop a time display operation during a predetermined pending period.

    Abstract: A motor drive device includes a driver unit configured to be connected to a stepping motor, and a controller connected to the driver unit. The controller causes the driver unit to output a drive pulse to the stepping motor for causing the stepping motor to rotate stepwise in a prescribed rotation direction. The controller detects, through the driver unit, a current induced by a counter-electromotive force generated in the stepping motor in response to the drive pulse. The controller causes the driver unit to apply a counter pulse having the same electrical polarity as the drive pulse to the stepping motor so as to suppress an amount of the current induced by the counter-electromotive force when the stepping motor is not rotating in response to the drive pulse so that the amount of the induced current detectably differs between when the stepping motor is rotating and not rotating.
