    Abstract: A light source unit generates an optical signal out of a bend-insensitive (“BI”) optical fiber that is compliant with a desired encircled flux (“EF”). The unit includes a light source to generate an optical light signal and a conventional multimode optical fiber coupled to receive the optical light signal from the light source at a first end. A modal conditioner is arranged to condition the optical light signal propagating along different modes of the conventional multimode fiber. A first bend-insensitive (BI) multimode optical fiber has an input end, the input end of the first BI multimode optical fiber being coupled at a second end of the conventional multimode optical fiber to receive the conditioned optical light signal from the conventional multimode fiber. The output from the first BI multimode optical fiber outputs an optical signal having the desired EF.

    Abstract: A multi-fiber fiber optic connector is provided having features that allow for changeability with respect to gender. A pin retention structure is configured to retain a pair of alignment pins and includes a pin-holder body with a pair of pin openings and a U-shaped spring clip. The spring clip including a base portion and two opposing legs, and is movable between a pin retaining position and a pin release position. When the spring clip is in the pin retaining position, the two opposing legs engage with outer sides of each of the alignment pins, and when the spring clip is in the pin release position, the base portion flexes inwardly and the two opposing legs disengage with the outer sides of each of the alignment pins.

    Abstract: Various fiber optic distribution modules are disclosed, as well as cable useable to interconnect such modules. One possible module includes a first MPO connector and a second MPO connector exposed, and a plurality of LC connectors, the plurality of LC connectors arranged into a first row and a second row. A plurality of fibers is routed between one of the first and second MPO connectors and a different one of the plurality of LC connectors. The plurality of LC connectors in the first row and the second row are grouped into N groups with M connectors in each group corresponding to M/2 channels included in each group and including a fiber pair. The M connectors of each group are disposed across the first and second rows. Indicia disposed on the second side of the housing visually distinguish each group of the N groups from an adjacent neighboring group.
