Abstract: A pluggable active optical module includes: electrical connector to communicate electrical signals; optical adapter(s) to communicate optical signals over optical fiber(s); storage device interface configured to contact corresponding storage device interface on optical fiber(s); transmitter optical assembly to convert electrical signals received from electrical connector into optical signals for communication by optical adapter(s) over optical fiber(s); a receiver optical assembly to convert optical signals received from optical adapter(s) to electrical signals for communication by electrical connector; controller to control transmitter optical assembly and receiver optical assembly; programmable processor coupled to storage device interface and first contact(s) of electrical connector and that accesses physical layer management information from storage device in optical fiber(s) through storage device interface and provides physical layer management information to host device connected to electrical connector; and switch between second contact of electrical connector and ground that selectively connects second contact of electrical connector to ground.

Abstract: A telecommunications panel and associated system are disclosed. In one example, the panel includes a panel housing having a first side and a second side, one or more data connectors on the first side, and a power input signal connector on the first side. The panel includes one or more combined power output and data signal connectors on the second side, each of the combined power output and data signal connectors configured to electrically connect to a twisted pair cable and including a plurality of twisted pairs each having first and second wire contacts. The one or more twisted pairs are configured to carry a power signal as a direct current voltage difference between the first and second wire contacts, and the remaining twisted pairs from the plurality of twisted pairs are configured to carry differential data signals. The telecommunications panel is configured to selectably allow pairs of the remaining twisted pairs from the plurality of twisted pairs to cooperate to carry a power signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a board mounted active component assembly that includes a printed circuit board to which a connector is mounted and electrically connected. In one aspect, the connector includes a housing defining an adapter port for receiving an optical plug. The connector also includes a fiber optic transceiver module secured within the housing such that the transceiver module is optically aligned with an optical plug received in the adapter port. The fiber optic transceiver module includes a transmitter optical sub-assembly (TOSA) and a receiver optical sub-assembly (ROSA) with leads connected to a circuit on the printed circuit board.

Abstract: An electrical connector is provided. The connector includes a housing having a wire end and a mating end. A terminal array extends between the wire end and the mating end of the housing. The terminal array has second terminals and first terminals. The electrical connector also includes a first open-ended conductor electrically connected to the engagement portion of a first mating conductor of the plurality of mating conductors and extending from the first nodal region. The electrical connector also includes a second open-ended conductor electrically connected to the interior portion of a second mating conductor of the plurality of mating conductors and extending from the second nodal region. The first open-ended conductor is capacitively coupled to the second open-ended conductor.
