摘要: Provided herein is a unique process that prepares a saturated hydrocarbon mixture with well-controlled structural characteristics that address the performance requirements driven by the stricter environmental and fuel economy regulations for automotive engine oils. The process allows for the branching characteristics of the hydrocarbon molecules to be controlled so as to consistently provide a composition that has a surprising CCS viscosity at −35° C. (ASTM D5329) and Noack volatility (ASTM D5800) relationship. The process comprises providing a specific olefinic feedstock, oligomerizing in the presence of a BF3 catalyst, and hydroisomerizing in the presence of a noble-metal impregnated, 10-member ring zeolite catalyst.

摘要: An aluminosilicate molecular sieve of STW framework type, designated herein as SSZ-110, and having a molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 of less than 100, is provided. SSZ-110 may be synthesized using an organic structure directing agent selected from one or more of 1,4-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)butane dications, 1,5-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)pentane dications, and 1,6-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)hexane dications. SSZ-110 may be used in organic compound conversion reactions and sorptive processes.

The synthesis employs a boron pathway to achieve the boron molecular sieve. The boron SSZ-117x may be used in organic compound conversion reactions, such as reforming, and/or sorptive processes.

The process includes the steps of: (1) preparing a mixture comprising: (a) an alumina-coated silica; (b) a source of an alkali metal; (c) an alcohol; (d) a source of hydroxide ions; (e) seed crystals comprising a zeolitic material having a TON framework type structure; and (f) water; and (2) crystallizing the mixture obtained in step (1).
