Abstract: In an imaging device mounted in the interior of a vehicle, a camera module is arranged so as to image the area ahead of the vehicle via a windshield. A processing substrate is provided integrally with the camera module and includes a processing part that controls the camera module. When the side on which an incident light receiving face exists in the camera module is defined as camera front and the side opposite to the camera front is defined as camera rear, the whole processing substrate is arranged at the camera rear with respect to the camera module.

Abstract: A camera apparatus is provided. A bracket is fixed to a windshield of a vehicle. A camera case is fixed to the bracket. A camera module is fixed to the camera case and includes a lens. A hood intercepts light. When the camera apparatus is fixed to the vehicle, an inclination angle of an optical axis of the lens with respect to the camera case is adjusted so that an object present ahead of the vehicle is captured within an angle of view of the camera module. The camera apparatus detects a position of the object. The object includes a lane and another vehicle. Information on the object is used for lane departure alarm control, light control, or collision avoidance control. The type of the inclination angle of the optical axis with respect to the camera case or the type of a shape of the hood is visually displayed.

Abstract: To reduce discomfort of occupants caused by operation sound of a camera cooling system in a vehicle, a vehicle-mounted camera includes a camera cooler and a controller. The vehicle-mounted camera is installed inside of a windshield. The camera cooler cools the vehicle-mounted camera. The controller determines if the vehicle-mounted camera is in a high temperature state. If it is determined that the vehicle-mounted camera is in the high temperature state, the controller controls the camera cooler to operate. The controller controls an air conditioner to provide a sound generation process to generate concealing sound to conceal operation sound caused by the camera cooler when the air conditioner operates.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus mounted in a vehicle includes an imager substrate, a housing, and a heat dissipator. The imager substrate has an image sensor mounted thereon. The housing is equipped with a rear wall extending in an in-plane direction perpendicular to a thickness of the imager substrate and has the imager substrate disposed therein. The heat dissipator is arranged between the imager substrate and the rear wall in contact therewith to transfer heat from the imager substrate to the rear wall. The rear wall has a substrate-facing surface facing the imager substrate through the heat dissipator and also has a retainer arranged on the substrate-facing surface to hold the heat dissipator thereon. This structure ensures enhanced stability in releasing thermal energy from the image sensor or the imager substrate.
